Praying for peace to all the family! She is definitely surrounded by a cloud of witnesses rejoicing in her home coming.
We have wonderful memories of Miriam and Bob Rutledge. They both welcomed us with warmth and friendship when we first arrived in IL to pioneer a church plant. They were gracious and inclusive and we had such fun together. They were definitely missed when they moved away.
We extend our condolences to the entire family and we also rejoice that Miriam has been promoted to glory.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your mom. I was a preschooler when your folks pastored in Crystal Lake. She was my first pastor’s wife and what a wonderful impression she had on me. God placed a call on my life and my first husband, Mike Massey and I served in ministry in the Illinois District when they were still there. So many great memories of your folks. She had a great impact on me.
Miriam (and Bob) were like family to Jerry and me for decades. Her contribution to TV38/TLN was immeasurable as executive secretary to Jerry—but so much more. Mabel was one of my best friends and I will always remember the good times, laughs, awkward situations, personal family challenges, and ministry we weathered together. Her radiant smile and positive attitude greeted us every morning and it was a joy and privilege to work together. One fond memory—Mabel attended my niece’s wedding in Vegas and we decided to ride the Hot Shot. I think we both lost several years in that terrifying experience. We look forward to some laughs in heaven some day.
So so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and prayers

Some of my favorite memories of my days at The Church Alive include Mabel! I loved to have her pray for me. I loved her dearly. May the peace of God be with the family.
