I grew up on Rock Street with Evans where we spent most of our childhood days playing around the neighborhood, down on the tracks climbing on railcars, or in the waters of Polk Bayou. I remember him being a bit mischievous and unafraid to try anything at least once! We played Little League baseball, junior high and high school football together. In high school football, he was one mean, all or nothing defensive linebacker that I dreaded trying to block during practice. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Evans for many years, but I'm still saddened by his passing. I will be praying for God's comfort for the family during this difficult time of loss.
Pete and I send our condolences to the family.
We have only known Evans and Carol a few years when they became our lake neighbors. It didn’t take but a few hours to know what great people were next to us. Evans was interesting and great to talk with. He was always offering to help us or find a tool we needed that we didn’t have. We enjoyed our visits with him and immediately knew they were there and we could depend on having good neighbors. Our hearts go out to Carol, she has been there with him and we are so sorry for his loss. Love & Prayers
Evans was a great BHS classmate. His broncos were legendary. Will miss his sly humor.
Ben and I are blessed to be neighbors with Evans and Carol. During the years that Ben was on the road away from home for work I always knew that Evans was just a call away if ever I needed help and that was a comfort that I can not ever express. He said just call ill come packing and I knew he would, He was a good friend and will be missed. Our prayers for Carol and the family. " Carol Just call and Ill send Ben Packing your way".
Growing up in the same neighborhood and graduating from school together, I can't remember when I did not know Evans. What a loss! Evans was a great person and good friend. I will miss seeing him periodically. I will miss his wit. My heart goes out to Carol and the family. Rest in peace Evans.
Carol, we are sorry for your loss. I (Vaughn) graduated from BHS the year after Evans did.

Carol, Evans was a great classmate 1968 and friend. Sorry for your loss. His laughter will always be in my mind.
Carol so sorry for your loss. Evans and I were both born into the Episcopal Church in Batesville. We were lifelong friends. Had a lot of fun together growing up. Our stories are numerous. Some I could talk about and some I probably shouldn't. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
