Cordell Nathaniel Thomas, II

of Mabelvale, AR

August 12, 1987 - June 13, 2025

Cordell Nathaniel Thomas II, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, departed this life on June 13, 2025, at the age of 37 after courageously battling Thymoma for eight years. Though his earthly fight has ended, Cordell's legacy of strength, love, and faith lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and raised in the East End, Cordell grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He found God early in life and was baptized at First Baptist Church, a foundation of faith that carried him through life's highs and lows. In 2008, Cordell met the love of his life, Amber. Their bond was unbreakable - rooted in love, respect, and resilience. Married for nearly a decade and together for 17 beautiful years, theirs was a love story built on laughter, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised three amazing boys, Malik Shakir Jr., Chase Thomas, and Jayden Farmer - cousins Cordell lovingly called his sons. He cherished his role as a father figure and poured his heart into guiding and protecting them. Cordell was a dedicated Warehouse Manager at Golden Eagle, where he worked faithfully for 16 years. Known for his dependability, quiet strength, and team spirit, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. A true family man, Cordell found joy in the simple things - fishing, playing Pokémon Go, caring for his dogs through RedDiamondKennel (a pet venture he proudly founded), and spending quality time with loved ones. His laugh was contagious, his heart generous, and his spirit humble. He never asked for much, yet gave so much to everyone around him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Amber Thomas; his three cousins/sons, Malik, Chase, and Jayden; his loving parents Tina Sanders, Lee Sanders, Cordell Thomas Sr., and Joyce Birdo Thomas; siblings Jade ''Meme'' Thomas, Chancey Skarda, Lee Sanders Jr., Porcha Birdo, and Corddarral Birdo; and his grandmother, Betty Boyd. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. Cordell was preceded in death by his beloved Aunt Polly and Uncle Rod, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms at Heaven's gates. Though he walked through pain, he did so with grace. He won his fight by how he lived - with love, courage, and purpose. Cordell's life was a testament to quiet strength, devotion to family, and a heart that never stopped giving. Visitation will be Friday, June 20, 2025, 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. Celebration of Cordell's Life will be on Saturday, June 21, 2025, 11:00am at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Arkansas Memorial Gardens.

Amber, I am praying for you and the children. I know this is a very difficult time for you. As a wife and mother, I can only imagine how much this hurts. Uncle Cordell I am praying for you as well, and that you and the family get through this difficult time. Much love, Taunia and Family

My thoughts and prayers are to this family especially his wife, parents, and children. I remember Cordell walking the halls of Central and he was always a person of laughter although I didn't get to know him personally I send my thoughts and prayers for the strength of all that knew him and the lives that he has touched. Psalms 34:18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Oh wow this is so hard to process it I'm here for Amber and the kids. I vow to you Cordell I will not leave their side as you know I won't. You my sweet son in law was one in a trillion. Young men like you are hard to find in this crazy place we call life but I knew You were Ambers soul mate when she was just 18. It was hard to let my first born grow up and move into adult hood but when I seen the love you had for my daughter and the strength and values you had I knew Amber was going to be just fine. The day she married you was the happiest day of her life but it was mine too cause I knew she found her true love her home inside your heart so I had no worries and you have always been there for her and the boys but also for me and I will never forget you. I love you with every ounce of my being and I know you are watching over us all as we say our see you later. It is not good bye it seems you later till we meet again. Wait for us and be at that gate as we all will be there one day with all of you that has made it before us. You were the son I never had and you made me so proud to call you my son in law the best a woman could ask for to take care of her daughter. See you later until we meet again I love you and miss you but will keep you alive in my heart.
