It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Burnie Falor of Angora Mountain, who left this world peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born in 1926 to Hiram and Marie Falor, Burnie was a man of deep integrity, enduring strength, and unwavering love for his family and the simple joys of life. He grew up with a respect for the land and a devotion to hard work that remained a cornerstone of his character throughout his nearly century-long life. Burnie was an honorable man who served his country during WWII.
Burnie had a profound love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the crisp morning air or casting a line into a quiet stream, he found joy and peace in nature's embrace. His happiest days were spent in the woods or by the water, often sharing stories, laughter, and life lessons with those lucky enough to join him.
He was known for his strong work ethic and a gentle wisdom that touched everyone who knew him. Burnie didn't just preach the value of hard workâ€"he lived it every day, and he inspired others to do the same. He believed deeply in enjoying life's moments, big or small, and his presence reminded us all to slow down and savor them.
Burnie's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by four grandchildren: Tavonda O'Dell Brown (Dale), Tammy O'Dell Smith (Shawn), Roger "Dwayne" O'Dell (Jessie), and the late Sonya O'Dell Chandler. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Christopher Gammill (Sarah), Jeff Brown (Cindy), Chelsea Frisby (Nelson), Nick Brown (Heidi), Brandon Smith (Tess), Cheyenne Smith (Josiah), Melissa Rowe (Jimmy), TJ Chandler, Ty O'Dell, Lance Warner, and Sierra Lawrence (Clayton). He was also blessed with thirteen great-great-grandchildren, each one a cherished part of his enduring legacy. Burnie is also survived by his brother, Deuhl Falor (Joyce).
Burnie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Hiram and Marie Falor, his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Falor, Tommy and Suzie O'Dell and his granddaughter Sonya. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught and the love he gave will live on through each generation he helped shape.
A private service will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend a quiet moment in nature in his memoryâ€"whether it's a walk in the woods, a day at the lake, or simply watching the sunset.
Roller Crouch of Mountain View is in charge of these arrangements.
