Vernon M. Boyett, Jr.I am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

April 22, 1932 - May 17, 2025

Vernon Motie Boyett passed away on May 17, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of selflessness, laughter and deep thoughtfulness. He had a remarkable gift for lighting up any room with his joyful presence, making everyone around him feel truly seen, heard and valued as if they were the most important person in the world.

His profound love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. Through quiet acts of kindness and heartfelt conversations, Vernon made sure his love was felt in both big and small ways. He gave generously of his time, his wisdom and his heart.

Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his humor and his unwavering ability to put others first. He leaves a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on April 22, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama, Vernon attended Vanderbilt University and graduated from the University of Alabama in 1954. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Harlingen, Texas, where he met his future bride, Barbara Davidson. They married in 1956.

Vernon served as a navigator in the Air Force, with assignments in several locations, ultimately completing his service in Fairbanks, Alaska. Following his military service, he and Barbara moved to Florida, where their three children were born and later settled in Crossett, Arkansas, where they raised their family.

He had a long-standing career with Georgia-Pacific and retired in 1996. In 2005, Vernon and Barbara moved to Little Rock to enjoy retirement closer to family.

Vernon had a deep curiosity and zest for life. He was fascinated by model trains and airplanes, loved challenging puzzles, was an avid reader and was perhaps the most enthusiastic ''Roll Tide'' Alabama fan you'd ever meet. But above all, his greatest joy was his ''bride of 69 years'', his children, grandchildren and his first great-grandchild.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Boyett; daughter, Lisa McCarriston (Kevin); son, Frank Boyett (Donette); son, James Boyett (Staci); grandchildren, Jeb Boyett, Noah Boyett (Breeana), Cameron Bryant (Hunter) and John David Boyett; great-granddaughter, Eden Boyett; niece, Gwen Lowder and nephew, George Brooks.

A visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm.

Oh the memories of the smile and laughter Vernon shared with all who knew him! What a joy he was but especially when he and Babs were together. I pray for each of you as you will miss him so, but I know that God provides us with such beautiful memories and the joy of the love he had for all of you. Maybe there will be a flagpole I can meet him at in heaven, maybe Babs remembers this joke he had with me. Barbara

Oh sweet Mr. Vernon. He would come to see us in the Engineering Accounting dept at GP almost every day. We loved his smile, his voice, but most of all his kind heart! It has been a while since I have seen him-but his kindness has remained. Ms. Barbara I am so sorry for your loss-please know that you and yours are in my thoughts and especially prayers.
