of Little Rock, AR

January 8, 1940 - May 16, 2025

Jerry Jon Brown passed away quietly May 16, 2025 in Little Rock, AR. Born at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, he was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Hattie Brown and his sister, Frances Pipes. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia and niece and nephew-in-law, Suzanne and Wiley Robinson of Norman, OK.

Jerry's lifelong passion was sports. He began pee wee football in elementary school, playing through junior high, high school and college, culminating with the Univ. Central Oklahoma's (UCO) 1962 NAIA National Football Championship. Upon graduation, Jerry began his football coaching career, first at Putnam City Junior High and then Edmond High School. This was about the time he discovered sailing. He fell in love with the sport. Six boats and 45 years later, he realized he needed a more grounded sport. Welcome golf…Jerry became an avid golfer, playing every chance he got.

Few knew of his altruistic acts of kindness and he wanted it that way. However, most people knew Jerry for his love of telling a good story that always ended with lots of laughter. He was a jokester from the word go and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service for Jerry will be 2:00pm on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UCO Foundation, 100 N. University Drive, Edmond, OK, 73034, designated for the UCO Football Scholarship Fund in honor of Jerry Brown.
