Robert "Doug" Douglas Hailey

of Maumelle, AR

February 2, 1962 - May 10, 2025

Robert Douglas Hailey, 63, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away on May 10, 2025 in the place he cherished most, near the banks of the Little Red River.

Born in San Antonio, TX on February 2, 1962, Doug grew up in different areas of Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri before landing in Conway in 1975.

He graduated from Conway High School, before going on to get a Bachelors in Business Administration from UCA. He worked as a mortgage banker for most of his career. Doug married his wife, Lisa, in 1997 when he gained his bonus daughter, Brittnee.

He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend whose presence lit up every room he entered. He was known for his big, contagious laugh, his endless stories and his willingness to go the extra mile for anyone in need.

Doug found joy in life's simple pleasures; casting a line for trout at the family cabin, cheering on the Razorbacks, UCA Bears and Dallas Cowboys, playing his guitar, dancing and spending time with those he loved most. His passions for hunting and fishing were matched only by the deep love he had for his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; his children, Ashton, Jared (Laramie) and Brittnee (Searcy) and his sister, Janet. His legacy lives on in the laughter he shared, the stories he told and the lives he touched.

Doug's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. Visitation will be held the evening before on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm also at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.

It is with a heavy heart that I say I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Doug Hailey. I’ve known Doug since I was a kid and I am thankful to have known him. Doug was such a happy go lucky kind of guy. He never met a stranger and just had the best personality. I’ll forever cherish the last time I saw him and Lisa at Oaklawn. It was relatively common for us to run into one another there but he always hollered out until he got my attention and greeted me with the biggest smile and hug! Man, I will miss that smile and that positive energy that came with his presence!

Rest easy Doug!
Love always,

Well what can I say about my favorite Juicebox Doug was such a good sport receiving his self given nickname while coaching Team CRuSH with me. We laughed alot coaching our beloved crazies.

Doug was like family when we were deployed in Arkansas.
He welcomed us into Maumelle like he knew us our whole lives. I'm pretty sure he even did some real estate deal for one of our many homes while living there.
His loud and infectious laughter could only be matched by mine. I swear we laughed til we cried so many times at the dumbest stuff.
He made life fun, was passionate in his beliefs, worked hard, played hard and was always willing to help a friend. I am so glad I got to share some of his journey here.

Doug was sensitive and cared about the kids he coached! That smile would light up anyone who saw it. He loved his wife Lisa and their kids. He was a proud Daddy to Britnee, Jared and Ashton!

Rest well my friend. Seems like you have gone fishing for good this time. I hope you get the biggest one. Lol, I can only imagine that tall tale! Haha. I am only sorry Rob and I didn't make it back up to fish with you! Our sincere love and prayers are with your family and especially my Umpa Lumpa at this difficult time. Much Love, Coach Dawnne Nance, Rob, Zach, Kierstyn, Zeke, and Bella.

The Haileys moved two doors from us when Doug was just reaching his teens, and we watched him grow into a young man of considerable promise. When his parents needed attention in their latter years, Doug came to their aide frequently. And if we happened to be in the yard, he would stop for a chat. Very friendly, Very caring. He will be missed by many for multiple reasons. May he rest in peace.

You’ were always such a kind person to me and my nephew Tony, and everyone else I ever saw you interact with I appreciate the many times I fished off your dock on the Little Red River and the stories that you would tell not to mention all the hints and advice you would give me how to catch more trout even Including where to cast.
Almost without fail every time we talked on the phone you would invite me up to the cabin And you would say, “ The only thing keeping you from being here is the distance between me and you”.
Rest easy my brother; rest in His Eternal peace!!!
