Harriette Kossover

of England, AR

August 20, 1940 - May 1, 2025

Harriette Kossover of England, Arkansas died peacefully Thursday, May 1, 2025 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 20, 1940 to Harry and Lois (Hogg) Kossover and enjoyed serving her community with the love of the Lord.
Harriette graduated from England High School in 1958. She worked for Godsey Motors for 33 years before her illness. Many gathered to talk over coffee as she connected people and prayers, never forgetting the needs of friends and family. Harriette loved to bless others by entertaining and cooking her famous peanut butter fudge and fruit cookies. There was always a paint brush and dishcloth nearby to keep her home tidy and ready for company. She enjoyed bike riding and walking, sometimes running when the mosquito sprayer was involved. She enjoyed shopping for a deal and blessing friends and family with her finds and was the best gift giver. Many miles were traveled around the state to watch sporting events that included her brothers. She found so much joy in family and all the activities that involved. She also served at her church, First Baptist Church, until her illness, teaching Sunday School, Jr High Girls Class, Girls In Action and never missed a service, morning or night. Her love of the Lord was infectious.
As her illness progressed many moments of traveling the roads with her sister were some of the sweetest times. They never missed activities that included many events for the grand niece and nephew that spun her world. Family meant everything to her.
Harriette was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold and his wife, June; brother, David and brother-in-law, Quin Melton and special friends, Jackie, Martha Jean, Sissie, Dean and Mildred. She is survived by her sister, Molly Melton and brother, Jerry (Becky); sister-in-law, Karen Kossover; eight nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew plus extended family, Mary Beth, Susan and Jean Ellen and a host of other family and friends who will never forget her or her love of family. So many loved Harriette through her illness and life but some special friends went above and beyond the past few years, Bill and MariBen Newton and Kenny Van Dalsem and other special friends, Sherrie, Beth, Bobbie, Pepper, Gay, J.C. and Patricia.
Arrangements are entrusted to Roller England in England, Arkansas. A small graveside service at Mulberry Cemetery Pavilion will be May 12th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 E. Haywood, England, Arkansas, 72046.

Harriette was a kind and generous soul whose warmth touched everyone around her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved. From the very first day I met her, she welcomed me into her family with open arms and an open heart, making me feel completely accepted and at home. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit brought light into every room she entered.
She lived her life with grace, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those she cared about. Whether through her thoughtful words, acts of kindness, or simply her presence, Harriette made a lasting impact on all of us. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I loved Harriette and enjoyed growing up with her. I loved her mom"s baking and having lots of brothers and Mollie around. As we got older we talked about family constantly and as her obit said "she loved her family". I am thankful she is with the Lord. I know she will be missed as she had many family and friends who loved her also!

I can’t start to tell you how much I loved my Harriette. She was in my life from the day I was born. The entire Kossover family were part of my family and cared for me. I am blessed to have precious memories with the entire family that I will never forget. Harriette and I spoke on the phone almost daily. God blessed you my dear friend.♥️🙏🏻♥️
