Kenneth D. Nanney passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 76, under the compassionate care of Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Ken was born on October 10, 1948, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Willa (''Billie'') and Jarrel Nanney. He was raised in Jasper and later in Yellville, where he graduated from high school. After marrying his wife, Kay, the couple moved to Fayetteville, where Kay supported Ken in earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas. They relocated several times before settling permanently in Fayetteville, where they have lived for the past 40 years.
Ken held various sales positions throughout his career, including roles at Woolworth, Champion Spark Plug, and MacMillan Bloedel. His experience eventually led him to become an independent sales representative for several packaging companies. Ken took great pride in his professional success and his ability to provide for his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay; his brother, Jerry P. Nanney; three children: Kim Reeder and her husband Mark of McKinney, Texas; Kenna James and her husband Blake of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Kholton Nanney and his wife Chelsea of Wichita, Kansas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Taylor Woodard, Jake Williams, Sam Williams, Clayton James, Blakely James, Ella James, Maren Nanney, and Cal Nanney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kelli.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Oakhill and his staff for their dedicated care throughout Ken's illness, and to the team at Willard Walker Hospice Home for their compassionate support during his final days.
