Jim David Sims, age 59, of Scott, Arkansas, passed away on April 26, 2025.
Jim David was born in Little Rock to Martha and Jimmy Sims. From a young age, he had a natural love for the outdoors. He was known for his easygoing nature, quick wit, and a contagious laugh that could fill a room. Jim David enjoyed life to the fullest, whether he was working, hunting, fishing, or spending time with his family.
A dedicated farmer, Jim David specialized in row crops and found peace and purpose in his work. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting deer and ducks and fishing for crappie. These were pastimes he cherished and often enjoyed with those close to him.
Jim David was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Sims; maternal grandparents, Euella and Alford Pry; paternal grandparents, Jimeva and Waylon Sims, and Etiole Sims.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Jessica Sims; his two sons, Blaine Sims (Sarah) and Hunter Sims (Mariella); and his treasured grandchildren, Jax, Sienna, and Sunny Sims. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Martha and Jimmy Sims; his in-laws, Gail Nunez, Faye and David Nipps, and Jennifer Nipps; niece, Brendan Burress; nephews, Seth Sims, Waylon McGee, and Griffin Word; great-niece, Briar Burress; and many other family and great friends who he loved like brothers.
Jim David was a wonderful and strong man. He faced life with courage and humor, and the legacy he built will continue to live on in those who knew him. He will be missed greatly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Keo Cemetery Association and mailed to P.O. Box 125, Keo, Arkansas.
A graveside funeral service will be at Keo Cemetery in Keo, Arkansas, on May 2, at 2:00 p.m.
