of Harrison, AR
June 9, 1948 - April 17, 2025
Garry Lee Roberts, age 76, a lifelong resident of Boone County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, with his family and friends by his side at Hillcrest Home. He was born on June 9, 1948, in Harrison, the son of Glenn Ferrell Roberts and Rosa May Walker Roberts Ingram.
Garry was a long-term and devoted member of Crossroads Community Church. He cherished his life in Boone County and enjoyed simple pleasures like fishing, golfing, and enthusiastically supporting his grandchildren in their various activities, rarely missing a game. He had a spirit of adventure and a goal to visit all 50 states, only missing North Dakota. His last memorable trip was a special journey to Colorado with his girls.
A true Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals fan, Garry was known for his playful sense of humor and his willingness to drive his grandkids wherever they needed to go. He was a well-respected UPS driver for 32 years, a career he dedicated himself to with diligence.
On January 12, 1968, Garry married the love of his life at Gaither Baptist Church, sharing 57 and a half wonderful years together. Their honeymoon was a memorable trip to Hollister in his cherished 1956 Chevrolet. Garry was a proud graduate of Bergman High School and maintained close bonds with his group of friends. He also enjoyed square dancing in his younger years.
Some of his happiest times were spent fishing with his grandson on Crooked Creek and area lakes, riding his four-wheeler, and taking leisurely afternoon rides with his son. Garry was also an avid softball player well into his 40s. He was a hard worker but always prioritized spending his spare time with his beloved family.
Garry is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Kay Trice Roberts, of the home; his son, Gregg Roberts, also of the home; his daughter, Shelly (Todd) Noftsger, of Bergman; his cherished grandchildren: Gabrielle (Bryce) Pursifull, Jordon (Landon) Pursifull, and Jerron (Emily) Pursifull; and his adored great-grandchildren: Ridge, Rinley, Rowan, and Coy. He is also survived by his brothers: Ronnie (Sherry) Roberts and Roger (Debbie) Roberts, as well as a host of dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Bill Ingram.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Hillcrest Crestview and to Pastor Paul Hochstedler at Hillcrest for their love and compassion.
Visitation was at the church.
Funeral service was held on Monday at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Johnny Walters officiating.
Interment was in White Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Shannon Garvin, Carl Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Danny Baker, Brent Roberts, Eric Roberts, Isaac Garvin, Riley Roberts, and Kaden Baker.
Honorary Pallbearers: Ethan Garvin, all nieces and nephews and the staff of Crestview at Hillcrest Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bergman School Athletic Program.
A good man never dies--
In worthy deed and prayer
And helpful hands, and honest eyes,
If smiles or tears be there:
Who lives for you and me--
Lives for the world he tries
To help--he lives eternally.
A good man never dies.
