We are heartbroken to learn of Deedra's passing at the McCain Institute. She was a pleasure to work with -- patient, helpful, and kind. Deedra was also always curious about our mission and activities, often tuning into events above and beyond her work assignments. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Deedra, as a McCain Global Leader at the McCain Institute/ASU, I am very sad to hear of her untimely passing and wish to express my gratitude for everything she did to make the MGL programme such a great success and nothing short of excellent. I heard that she contributed immensely to the programme behind the scenes and I will be forever grateful for that. May she rest in peace.

You were such a pleasure to work with and I'm grateful to have known you. This is devastating. Rest in peace, Deedra.
We are so sad to hear of Deedra's passing at the McCain Institute, where she worked closely with us for over two years, and our hearts go out to her children and her entire family. Deedra was a kind person, conscientious and an all-around outstanding colleague. She cared about our mission and went the extra mile -- never missing an all-staff town hall meeting - - and showing warmth and consideration for all of us. My heart goes out to all who loved and were touched by her; she is at peace now.
Heartbreaking news. Deedra was so kind, and so thoughtful and precise, and a total professional. My condolences to her five children and her family, and to all her colleagues here and in Tempe, Houston, and beyond.
There is an article I just found about her from Katy Magazine Online (the system here does not allow URLs to be posted ) about when she and her family took in two couples and their five dogs (!) during hurricane Harvey.
We will miss her. May her memory be a blessing.
I’m heartbroken by the sudden loss of my ASU/McCain Institute colleague and friend Deedra. She was kind, caring, and always looked out for those around her. Her warmth and compassion touched so many, and she will be deeply missed. I am keeping her family - especially her kids who she loved and talked about so much - in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so sad to lose a colleague and friend, who went above and beyond to support the global work of the McCain Institute. Deedra was always up for a chat about life, work and always wanted to hear about my dog and see pictures. She will be missed but her professional legacy and impact will carry on through the work of the Institute and ASU. My sincere condolences and thoughts are with Deedra's loved ones.
I’m so heartbroken. You were not only a wonderful colleague, but also a kind friend to me. Your warmth, dedication, and the way you supported me—those are gifts I will never forget.
Thank you for everything you’ve done, for all of us, and for me. I know you are resting in peace now. I will carry your legacy forward by trying my best to be kind, generous, and to make this world a better place—just like you always did.
With love and deep gratitude,
May
