Robert E. Lee Lanham, fondly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025 at the age of 98 in Maumelle, Arkansas. Born on April 19, 1926 in Glenwood, Arkansas, Bob lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to his family, faith and community.

Bob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II, a service that shaped his character and commitment to others. Following his honorable discharge, he began a distinguished 30-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Not one to rest on his laurels, Bob embarked on a new venture after retirement, founding Lanham Telephone Company, where he continued to serve the community for over 15 years.

A deeply religious man, Bob was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than six decades. His faith guided him in all aspects of life and he was honored to serve as a deacon, offering support and guidance to his fellow congregants. His dedication to his faith and community was unwavering and an inspiration to many.

Bob married the love of his life, Jacqueline Dunham Lanham and together they shared 62 years of marriage before she predeceased him. After retirement Jackie and Bob enjoyed going on trips with Fidelity Bank, where they made many lifelong friends. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Bob was a loving father to his three children: daughters, Lanette Missman (David) and Patrice Wright (Paul) and his son, James Lanham (Kristi). He was a grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Noel Thomas Lanham and Lula Mae Lanham; his daughter, Patrice Wright and his brothers, Jack and Andrew Lanham. He is survived by his sister, Martha Faye Reed and many Nieces, Nephews and cousins that he loved dearly.

Those who knew Bob remember him as a man who never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, always showing kindness and care. His love for Jesus and his family was evident in his daily actions and interactions, leaving a legacy of compassion and integrity. He was truly loved by all who knew him.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Bob's life at a visitation on Sunday, April 6th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roller Citizens Funeral Home, with funeral services following. Bob will be laid to rest at Crittenden Memorial Park at a later date, where he will be reunited with those who have gone before him.

Bob's life was a testament to the power of faith, family and community. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.

The family is thankful for all of the love and support that has been shown to them during this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Bob, honoring his lifelong dedication to his faith and community.

Lanette and family…..your dad was so kind and encouraging to Larry and I as we began our ministry at Calvery Baptist over 40 years ago! He was a leader in the church and he loved our Heavenly Father and shared his love with everyone he came in contact with! Praying for each of you as you celebrate his life! Much love, Sallie Morrison

I've known Mr. Bob my entire life. I will always remember the days of growing up around him and Ms. Jackie at Calvary Baptist Church. It's so hard to lose our loved ones here on earth, but oh, the joy of their homegoing!

What an awesome person Mr. Bob was. He was the most caring person and was a true gentleman. As a child I was intrigued by his height and how he was so attentive of Mrs. Jackie. Such a great man.

What a wonderful man. Worked with Bob when he was with AT&T and then when he started his own company. Always looked after Razorback and did it with a big ole smile!
