Virginia Whitley

of Cabot, AR

December 19, 1926 - March 12, 2024

Our ever smiling, elegant, beautiful mother awoke in the arms of Jesus in the early morning of March 12, 2024 at the age of 97 years.

Grace Virginia Davis Whitley was born to George and Emmie Davis, December 19,1926 in Bauxite, Arkansas. She married Harold C. Whitley in 1947 and remained married 55 years until his death in 2002.

The loves of her life were her five children, Robert H. Whitley, David E. Whitley and Deborah Whitley Vinsett preceded her in death. Surviving her is her ''Golden Child'', her daughter, Maggie Whitley McClellan (David) and her ''Sweet Baby Boy'', John S. Whitley (Carolynn); daughters-In-Law, Vicki Cox Whitley and Jeanna Kyzer Whitley and sister-in-law, Marcelina Davis.

She was the sole survivor of her six brothers, Boyd, Milas, George, Jr., Bob, Dar and Jackie and her only sister, Judy. She was also preceded in death her grandson, Robert Shayne Whitley and great-granddaughter, Emma Gonia.

Virginia was blessed with a wonderful life seeing four generations and hearing of the fifth generation: 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great child. Her grandchildren brought her, her most joy.

Virginia attended Country Chapel Church, Ward, Arkansas until she was unable to attend services.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM with services following at 11:00 AM at Roller Owens Funeral Home on JFK, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Services will be officiated by Brother Kevin Knoble and Carolynn
Whitley.

Pallbearers will be many of her grandsons, Marcus McClellan, Micah McClellan, Keith Whitley, Michael Gonia, Eric Gonia and Clay Flesher.

I loved this lady so much, she was such a an example of a "lady". She treated me like a member of her family. So sorry for your loss, thinking of all of you.

When our Aunt Ginger died this week my sister said to me, “I guess now we really are orphans.” She was correct. Ginger was our last aunt and the core of our family memories and relationships. She was our mother when we lost our’s. A woman who was down to earth, realistic, no nonsense, who never took herself seriously and who loved unconditionally. She kept us entertained with her deliciously wicked sense of humor. She was a woman of God who daily lived her faith. Someday we will be together again…until then, Dear Ginger, you will live in our hearts and our memories. In loving memory Randy, Dottie and Vern.
