Rex Ivens

of Gassville, AR

April 22, 1957 - February 9, 2024

Rex Ivens, 66, of Gassville, AR passed away on February 9th in Mountain Home, AR.

Rex was born in Buffalo City, AR on April 22, 1957 to Harlin and Edna Ivens. He married Marcia Hood on June 16, 1978. Together they raised 3 fine sons.

Rex was a humble man and a friend to many. He would stop whatever he was doing to help anyone who needed it without expecting anything in return.

He deeply loved his family and spent a lot of time investing in his grandchildren. He was a member of Gassville Baptist Church and loved his church family.

He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, as well as building antique trucks. He could take a trailer full of parts and turn it into a classic.

He spent 30+ years working at Plumlee Tire. He made many friends and built strong relationships with people there.

Rex is survived by his wife, Marcia of the home; Son, Derek (Monica) of Norfork, Son, Jeremy of El Dorado and Son, Justin (Jaime) of Gassville; Grandchildren, Alliyah (Dawson) Akins, Bailey Ivens, Johannah Ivens, Kaydence Ivens, Calvin Ivens, Marlee Shields and Mason Shields; Great-grandchildren, Bentley Cash Akins and Kinsley Grace Akins; Sisters, Michelle Hood (Mike) and Joan Marler (Roger) and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his precious daughter, Jennifer Christine Ivens; as well as his parents; his brother, Jerry and his sisters, Margie White, Sandra Blankenship and Glenda Perrigo.

Visitation will be held at Gassville Baptist Church on February 13th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Gassville Baptist Church on February 14th at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Gary Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Gassville Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
