Jo Lee Bearden, 81, of West Memphis, passed away on January 21, 2024, in North Richland Hills, TX. She was born in Osceola, AR, on February 24, 1942, the only child of Ed and Olive Williams. She attended Marion High School until her senior year when the family moved to Blytheville, where she graduated. She attended Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis and was a nurse for 40+ years at various hospitals in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, spending almost 30 years as an OR nurse at Crittenden Memorial Hospital. She was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Grand Organist twice. She was also active as an advisor for the Order of Rainbow for Girls and the Order of Demolay for Boys. She was most active in her church, First Baptist West Memphis, where she was a member of the Adult Choir, the JOY Singers Senior Adult Choir, the Joy Seekers Senior Adult group, serving as President for a number of years. She was also active in the Ladies Ensemble, Handbell Choir and Children's Choirs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, uncle Dwight Anderson and aunts Norma Anderson, Ione Thomas & Winona Stallings. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Chris) Patterson of North Richland Hills, TX and Charlotte (Jack) Spurr of Knoxville, TN; her granddaughter, Kendall (Dante) George of Buda, TX and grandson, Keegan Spurr of Knoxville, TN.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 7, at First Baptist Church in West Memphis, with burial at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens, in Osceola.

Sheila and Charlotte,

Charlotte...I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was always so super nice. I remember her being such a great support system to our high school band. Praying for your family during this difficult time.
