Gary Brent Cooper, 69, of Searcy passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on November 25, 1954 in Palestine, Arkansas to his parents, Gary Bert and Dora Mae Wagner Cooper. Gary was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the South Heights Freewill Baptist Church and was strong in his faith.

Gary is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sue Cooper; three children, Gary Nicholas (Catrina) Cooper, SR, Greg Allen (Carla) McDonald and Melinda Willbanks; five grandchildren, Gary Nicholas Cooper, JR, Greg Andrew ''Andy'' (Haley) McDonald, Hannah Christine (Blake) McDonald, Jerry Thomas ''JT'' (Cheyenne) Newnum, JR and Mindy LeeAnn (Jeffery) Newnum; eight great grandchildren, Brooklyne, Alexis, Karlee, Wynter, Jaxon, Brenton, Johnathan and Gary N, III; one sister, Beverly (Ricky) Kelly and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Daniel) Bergman along with his nieces, nephews and other extended family and many friends.

Gary was a gentleman who loved life and tried to live it to the fullest. He loved being with people and when he met you, he wanted to know everything about you and he would keep on until he did. He loved to hunt and fish, but hunting was his favorite. The greatest love for Gary was his family. He met the love of his life and they were married on April 1, 1989. The times he got to spend with his family were his best and he cherished every bit of it.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 with Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. All services will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy.

This really made me so sad to hear Brent had passed away. He was such a dear friend and always so good to me. I know his family will really miss him. Such a sweet guy. Love and prayers to you all.
