November 9, 1938 - December 26, 2023

Loyce G. Gibson, 85, of Jonesboro passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at St. Bernards Villa. She was born on November 9, 1938 in Brookland, AR to George and Aleen (Nall) Gambill. Loyce was a retired loan officer with Centennial Bank, having worked in the banking industry for more than 50 years. She served as a past president of the Altrusa Club and was named 2002 Altrusan of the Year. One of God's children, she was a member of the Brookland Baptist Church. Loyce loved square dancing with friends on the weekend and was a member of the Jonesboro Promenades. Above all else though, Loyce loved her family. She loved nothing more in the world but to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Ed Gibson; her parents and six siblings.

Left to remember Loyce are her daughter, Marlette Stevenson (Bob James); her son, Kent Gibson (Dana); grandchildren, Cole Stevenson (Whitney), Kenna Gibson Watts (Sheridan) and Dia Gibson Watson (Jordan); great grandchildren, Alton, Talon, Zayden, Kaia, Charlotte and Vivien and sisters, Mary Garrett and Sue Cook.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in honor of Loyce to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House of Jonesboro.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland Arkansas at 3pm on Friday, December 29, 2023 with Rev. Dr. Charles Coleman officiating.

A visitation will precede the service beginning at 1pm at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro, AR.

My condolences to your family in the loss of Loyce. Loyce gave me my first job in the bank when I was just a young woman with a family. I always thought so much of her. She worked hard and loved her family. May God comfort your family during this time and in the coming days. Prayers, Linda Simpson

Loyce was a great role model for me when I first started in banking in the 70's.
She was the reason I had a successful career in banking for 40 years.
She will be missed dearly, she touched so many lives and hearts.
Prayers for the family.
