of East End, AR

May 22, 1943 - December 15, 2023

Sharon Kay Smith, age 80, of East End, Arkansas passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. She was born in Little Rock on May 22, 1943 to her late parents, Ben and Thelma Hartzog Stiles. Sharon never met a stranger. If she wasn't already your friend, you were by the time the visit was over. She always made sure the mailman and delivery driver had a drink and candy bar when they brought packages.

Sharon was a member of Grace Church in East End, worked the East End Parade for many years and had a ceramic shop back in the 1980's. She loved her family fiercely and was the best granny a child could ever ask for and was always playing or cooking for them. Sharon loved big and was very protective of her family. In addition, her hobbies included reading, sewing, painting ceramics, cross stitching, puzzles, working word finds and taking pictures of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Smith; 2 daughters, Becky Moss (Mike) and granddaughters, Shelby Robinson (Tommy) and Annie Ferrell and Deb Canaday (Mark) and grandsons, Jonathan Canaday and Josh Canaday. She is also survived by special friends, Steve and Ruthie Stewart. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Kenny Stiles; 1 sister, Elaine Bennett and many friends.

A visitation will begin at 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Grace Church, 24300 US-167, Hensley, AR 72065 with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm with Brother Tommy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

I am so sorry for your loss. Sherry was my sister’s best friend from grade school until her death (Eleanor Spikes Riddle). Sherry was a faithful, loving friend to all my family and we will miss her.
