Ann Louisa Wright

of Searcy, AR

February 20, 1932 - December 13, 2023

On December 13, 2023, Ann Louisa Broadfoot Wright passed from this life at the age of 91. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee and lived 13 years in Paragould, Arkansas, but spent the majority of her years in Searcy, Arkansas.

Ann was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She worked for over 30 years at Harding University as Floyd Daniel's administrative assistant in the Office of Advancement. While at Harding, she formed many meaningful relationships with coworkers, donors and students. Her cheerful disposition was a joy to be around.

Ann's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed time spent with her. She loved photography - mostly taking pictures of her family and God's beautiful creation (especially flowers and birds). She also liked traveling. Notable trips were to Africa, Great Britain, Vancouver, British Columbia and Hawaii. She was an avid bird watcher and flower admirer and enjoyed growing flowers and feeding the birds in her backyard. In retirement, she loved playing Bunco in two separate groups, having fun fellowshiping.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Susan (Glenn) Dillard; brother, Jim (Joan) Broadfoot; grandchildren, Sarah (Mark) Plath, Marcus Moore, Amanda (Gautier Ferran) Moore, Justin (Liz) Baines, Emily (Jesse) Shelton, Lydia (Joshua) Brumfield, Robbie (Christine) Dillard, James (Amanda) Dillard, Aaron (Katelyn) Wright, Julia Dillard and Abbey Wright; 15 great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Johnny Baines. Those who preceded her in death were her husband, Ray A. Wright; daughter, Barbara Moore and her husband, D. Mark; son, David Wright and his wife, Melanie and daughter, Donna Baines.

I will miss corresponding with Ann every Christmas as we have for about the last 38 years. I always enjoyed her family news and pictures. Ann's grandfather (Charles D. Postal) was my grandmother's (Mamie Postal Davenport-Memphis) brother. I also remember Ann's mother Loraine when visiting in Memphis as a child. I will always remember Ann. May God comfort the family.

She was a very kind and caring person. She was especially helpful to me when I was a student at Harding University. She and Brother Wright sang for my wedding 52 years ago.
Truly a wonderful person.
God bless and comfort her family.
