Sybil Marie Carroll

of North Little Rock, AR

October 3, 1928 - December 7, 2023

Sybil Marie Carroll, 95, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023. Born on October 3, 1928 to Burton and Dessie Graddy in Vilonia, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Charles and her sisters, Betty, Martha and Wilma.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Dawne) and daughter, Cheri Stevenson; her 4 grandkids and their families, Ted and Mindy Carroll, Micah and Daniel Wiginton, Cate Crosland and Clay and Bekah Carroll; her 13 great grandkids, Jude, Cale, Tate, Ben, Isaac, Esther, Jade, Patrick, Colton, Eli, Lydia, Eden and Judson and many extended Graddy family members.

Sybil grew up in Vilonia, the second of four daughters. She was a tomboy who loved being outside and considered herself a decent basketball player. Sybil also developed marvelous skills for sewing and cooking from her mother. Sybil was a masterful seamstress for many people in Little Rock and especially her daughter.

Sybil loved Immanuel. She was very active in WMU. She served as State President on three different occasions and also served as president of Immanuel's WMU. Sybil was also a Sunday School teacher with Young Married Couples and then as she got a bit older, she taught a ladies class. Sybil loved the Bible. She will always be remembered as a mighty prayer warrior. Sybil loved her family. She sacrificed for them without a complaint. Sybil attended anything that Brian and Cheri were involved in. It never crossed her mind to not be in attendance and the same carried over to the grandkids. She and Charles loved trips to the beach and building sand castles and hunting seashells with the grandkids and then with the great grandkids.

Sybil was a true prayer warrior. Talking to God and reading His scripture is what sustained her as her vision and health began to decline. When she could no longer remain at home, she moved to Willow Grove of Sherwood where she had the most fabulous group of caregivers who became a part of the family and they loved her well. She had the privilege of living at Willow Grove alongside her sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Dick Giddings. Wilma beat Sybil to Heaven by 6 months. On Thursday morning, December 7, 2023 she transitioned to her Heavenly home. We know when she saw Jesus, He was pleased and she was reunited with Charles, her sisters and so many friends.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 11th at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, in the sanctuary, with a reception following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 'Immanuel Acts 1:8 Fund' or 'ACCESS Group Inc.'

Brian and Cheri.....I was so sorry to hear about your Mom.....she was such a special person.
I have fond childhood memories of her ..... and will always remember her as such a kind and peaceful person. As I was learning to sew....I would often ask her questions as she was such a remarkable seamstress! When I was pregnant with my first child----I needed professional maternity clothes (of which there were NONE to be found at the time!) and was too sick to sew them myself. So.....who did I turn to? Your Mom, of course! I mailed her the fabric and patterns and I received gorgeous maternity clothes in return!
I'm sure my Mom and your Mom are catching up in Heaven now! Two special ladies who had a special bond on earth and will in Heaven as well. Love to both of you at this difficult time
