Hershel Dean Tilley, 84, of Fifty-Six, Arkansas passed from this life December 7, 2023 and woke in the arms of his Lord and Savior. He was born April 16, 1939 at Yampa, Colorado to the late Donnie and Blanche Tilley. Hershel also dearly loved his stepfather, Truman Petty.

Hershel served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He ran a generator shop in an M.A.S.H. Unit during his service time.

Hershel worked as a farmer and a construction worker. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great outdoors. Hershel was a member of the Church of God and was a devoted Christian man. He loved his family and enjoyed having them live close to him. Hershel married his beloved Eileen (Jeffrey) Tilley on March 25, 1961 and were married for fifty-one years.

Hershel is survived by his son, Don Tilley; daughter, Jenny and Jeremy (Tilley) Smith; sister, Bobbie Dale; half-sister, Billy Jo Burch and a host of nieces and nephews.

Hershel is preceded in death by his parents, Donnie Tilley and Blanche Petty; stepfather, Truman Petty; sister, Robbie Nell; brothers, Eugene and Ovalee and half-brother, Jerry.

There are no services at this time.
