George Fleming of Conway, AR was born on April 8, 1949 in Benton, Arkansas to John George Fleming and Marion Turner Fleming. He grew up in Saline County and attended Bryant Schools. He earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Memphis.
George was a devoted husband to Linda, his wife of 52 years. They often celebrated their anniversaries by traveling, visiting destinations such as Israel, Italy, Bermuda, Alaska, Maine and various countries in Europe on a Rhine River cruise, as well as touring western U.S. National Parks.
He had a deep passion for National Geographic and had received every issue since 1970. George found joy in woodworking and his handmade Adirondack chairs were cherished by family and friends. He loved entertaining with smoked turkeys and hams, playing card games and was the Fleming family puzzle enthusiast. He maintained a gentlemen's farm, tending chickens, bees, fruit trees, grapes and an assortment of berries.
George dedicated his career to hospital administration, working in various Arkansas hospital systems, including St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs and the Mississippi County Hospital System. He also served as the President for the Arkansas Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association from 2003-2004.
In addition to his professional pursuits, George volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Indian Princess. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock, Lake Valley Community Church of Hot Springs and Fellowship Bible Church of Conway.
George is survived by his wife, Linda Joyce Wolford Fleming and his daughters, Kerrie Diaz, Shelley Fleming and Lorrie (Scott) Bouchard. He found great joy in activities such as swimming, zip-lining, collecting coins and riding in his Ranger with his beloved grandchildren, Abigail, Summer and Aaron Diaz.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marion Fleming and his sister, Leslie (Gene) Farmer. Surviving him are his sisters, Janet (Butch) Fooks, Susan (Ronnie) Brown and his brother, Gary Fleming.
A celebration of life will be held at Fellowship Bible Church, 1051 Hogan Lane, Conway, AR 72034 on Friday, October 27, 2023. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm with services at 3:30 pm.
The family is a supporter of Operation Christmas Child and encourages friends and family to consider supporting this mission through Fellowship Bible Church.

Linda, my prayers are with you and your family. George will be missed but the happy memories will be remembered. I spent summers with my cousins and remember spending nights with Aunt Marion and uncle John Fleming and enjoying many fun times together and made happy memories with my cousins in Arkansas. Those times are treasured. What a blessing to be a part of the big Fleming family.
Linda, some of the happiest times of my youth invoke memories of you and George being at our family gatherings. It is with very heavy hearts that we hear of George's passing. Keeping you and family in our thoughts and prayers.

The childhood memories the Fleming grandchildren have are sweet indeed. We were so blessed to have a big family that loved and celebrated big! Thanking God for his blessings and the steadfast hope of eternal life that Christ gives his children.
