Edward Eugene Cooper

of Searcy, AR

February 27, 1949 - October 14, 2023

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Edward Eugene Cooper of Searcy, Arkansas. Born on February 27, 1949, he was 76 years old. First and foremost, he was a man who loved his family deeply, most especially concerning his wife, children and grandchildren. Never one to miss when he could help it, he was a proud member of Macedonia Baptist church for many years. The annual vacations would always give him something to look forward to with a smile on his face. A great lover of nature, he enjoyed everything from hunting and fishing to nature documentaries. In recent years, he followed politics closely and loved to discuss them with his grandson.

Preceding Edward in death were his parents, Jim and Mary Cooper and his brother, Louis Cooper. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Cooper; his daughters, Melissa (Mark) Wallace and Ginger Cohea (Stephen Saunders); his grandchildren, Eric Selvidge, Jordan (William) Jones and Tyler (Robyn) Boyce; as well as his newly born great-grandson, Mason Jones. He is also survived by four siblings, Robert (Ernestine) Cooper, Linda (Bill) Fieldin, Lester (Linda) Cooper and Jimm (Maggie) Cooper.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Eddie, was a great friend & neighbor. After living across from he and Marilyn for 10 years I came to love and treasure that friendship plus after that period of time I came to love Marilyn we use to say when people asked if we were sisters that we were sisters from different mothers. Marilyn I love you and your kids and grands, also I’m an extra nana for Mason.
