Betty Ruth Hudson

of Western Grove, AR

October 24, 1939 - October 6, 2023

Betty Ruth Hudson, age 83, of Western Grove, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born in Tullahoma, Tennessee on October 24, 1939 to Cecil and Elizabeth Martin.

If you knew Betty, it was no secret that she was a cut up and was incredibly talented at bringing out laughter in everyone she knew. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching "Wheel of Fortune", Jimmy Swaggart and solving word search puzzles. She considered herself a jitterbug expert and would offer her expertise to any willing participant. Moo moos were her signature attire and she rocked them like she rocked the jitterbug. Her playful and mischievous demeanor was on display every Halloween which was her most enjoyable time of the year. Dressing up and having fun was something she had a knack for. She and her husband, Lloyd, wed October 31, 1958, which exemplified her love for Halloween. He often joked that he was tricked while she was treated. This same love for holidays was evident at Christmas, when she made big meals and transformed her yard into a winter wonderland. She loved the king, ?AKA Elvis? and was fond of watching his movies while eating no bake cookies and drinking milk. But Jesus was her true King. God and her family always held her heart. She was often seen reading her Bible, listening to and singing gospel hymns.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Dean of Western Grove, AR, Bobby Hudson (Nona) of Searcy, AR, Jerry Hudson of Conway, AR and Mary Hudson of Clinton, AR; eight grandchildren, Megan Jenkins (Clayton), Lacy Dixon (Ryan), Hannah Cornett (Derek), Cassie Cooley (William), Nicholas Hudson, Veronique Czekalski, Monica Hudson and Hope Huntsman (Jordan); eighteen great grandchildren and two brothers, Jimmy Martin and Larry Martin.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Elizabeth Martin; her husband, Lloyd Hudson and a son-in-law, Wayne Dean.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Roller-Coffman in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Clayton Lesley and Bro. Larry Martin officiating. A visitation for Betty will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. preceding the funeral services. Burial will follow the funeral service at Western Grove Cemetery.

Importantly, the family thanks Highland Court for the excellent care and most importantly the love provided to our precious mother. You will always be in our hearts.

To know Aunt Betty was to love Aunt Betty. Sometimes she was a lovable "dingbat," but she had a heart of pure gold. You couldn't catch her off-guard by showing up unexpectedly at Christmas time. She'd go to the closet and pull out a wrapped gift for the boy or girl of a certain age. She was an extraordinary hostess who made everyone welcome.

I will miss you and love you forever.
