Harold "Bo" Gene WoodI am a Veteran.

of Flippin, AR

August 18, 1933 - September 17, 2023

Harold Gene (Bo) Wood passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90.

Bo was a lifelong resident of Flippin, where he attended high school and returned to after being drafted in to the Army. Bo married the love of his life, Kay Kirkland Wood, March 23, 1963 and went on to raise three children in Flippin. Bo was very active in sports. He coached Pee Wee Basketball and summer league baseball while their children were involved. Moving on to playing men's slow-pitch softball, coaching Kay's women's teams, then on to his daughters. Bo's men's teams traveled all over the country competing and were well known. They won a lot of tournaments over the years, as did his women[[]'s teams. If you frequented the ball parks in Flippin, the Bobcat gym, or any gym or park, most likely you would see him and Kay supporting someone whether it be on of their kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids, or any of their "adopted" kids which there were many of over the years. Bo loved his Braves and if they were on TV he was watching. He loved to watch his wrestling and could be found doing that in the evenings if there were no games to watch. A devoted family man, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life. He was employed at Marchant Lumber Company for many years before moving on to Ranger Boats from which he retired after many years of service. If you ever played on one of Bo's teams you became his. He was competitive but thought of you as one of his children, he touched many lives over the years and talked about those days whenever he got the chance.

Bo is survived by three children, Kim Butcher (Marc) of Fairview, Tammy Wood of Flippin, Wayne Wood (Patty) of Flippin; five grandchildren, Stehvin Butcher (Holly) of Flippin, Colbie Butcher (Amy) of Flippin, Hanna Butcher Holtby (Allen) of Everton, Kaylee Wood of Flippin, Karlee Wood (Tanner) of Bald Knob and seven great-grandchildren, Kinsley Butcher, Savannah Butcher, Presley Butcher, Easton Butcher, Evelyn Holtby, Coy Holtby and Karter Meachum.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kay and eleven brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be taken to Flippin City Hall to the attention of Chris Adams in honor of Bo. Proceeds will go to upgrades to the parks for the youth leagues.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.

Graveside service will be 11:00 am Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery near Flippin with Bro. Jack Jefferson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Allen Holtby, Colbie Butcher, Stehvin Butcher, Tanner Meachum, Dave Crisenbery, Bud Leininger, Kevin Eastwold and Ryan Eastwold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Tilley, Curt Bryant, Jaymie Jones, Deryl Wilson, Dion Hargrove and anyone he ever coached!

No was one was more generous, kind or caring. Every time i visited my brother Marc I tried my best to visit him. He always treated me like family. He would always send me home to Texas with Ranger boat hats or shirts. He will truly be missed by everyone. Loved him dearly.
