Lola V Sidle

of Marietta, GA

September 6, 1923 - September 9, 2023

Lola V. Sidle, age 100, of Marietta, Georgia completed her earthly journey on
Saturday, September 9, 2023. She was born on September 6, 1923 to the
late John Oliver and Mittie Jane (Moore) Stracener in Romance, Arkansas.
She was the youngest of eleven children. She married James Carthel Sidle
on July 14, 1945 and they were married until his death in August of 1974.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her 10 siblings.
She is survived by her son, James C. (Jim) Sidle and his wife, Gail; her daughter,
Wanda Sidle Guice and her husband, Dale; four grandchildren; eight great
grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and a host of other
family members and friends.

Lola worked as a Nurse's Aide and as a physical therapist at Rodger's Hospital
and later at White County Hospital. She was a member of the Church of
Christ and for the past eighteen years was a member of the East Cobb
Church of Christ in Marietta, Georgia.

Lola loved word games and you had to be pretty good at Scrabble to have
a chance of winning when playing her. She was a great cook and all guests at
her table had great treats when eating meals she prepared. She was best
known among family and friends for her German Chocolate Cake, chocolate
pie and several other sweet goodies.

Lola was known as a helper of other people and a great example of her servant
heart was her care for her own mother during the last years of her life.

Visitation will begin at 1:00PM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Roller-Daniel
Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas with service to follow at 2:00PM.
Interment will be at Gum Springs Cemetery in Searcy. All services are

I met Lola when she moved to Georgia to live with Jim and Gail. She was always pleasant to be around and always had a smile on her face! She was very proud of her son. Lola was always perfectly dressed and not a hair out of place. What a wonderful legacy to make it to 100!

Lola's light has shined bright for 100 years.
She was a woman of devotion. Devoted to God and to her family. With her sense of humor, her kind, cheerful, gentle way, she has touched generations. She was very knowledgeable about scripture, and lived it. Lola was a Proverbs 31 woman. What a blessing to have known her and see God's love shine through her. Until you meet again, our prayer Gail and Jim, is for you to feel God's loving, comfort as He has welcomed sweet Lola to Him.

We love you, Ancel and Judy Buchanan

Although I never met Lola, I could tell from all the kind words that she was an amazing woman. She left a great legacy. I pray that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, comfort and console the Sidle family. Amen

Jim and Gail, Lola was such a sweet and loving Sister in Christ. She was a delight in every way and so easy to love by anyone who knew her. I know that because of what I see in the great man that she raised. May God bless you and the family, keeping his loving arms around you in the days ahead. We love you, Don and Sherryl Giles, East Cobb Church of Christ
