Barbara June Caldwell Sublett

of Mt. Vernon, AR

June 20, 1929 - September 8, 2023

Barbara June Caldwell Sublett, 94, went to be with Jesus on Friday, September 8, 2023 surrounded by her beloved family.

"Barb" was born in Mount Vernon, Arkansas on June 20, 1929. She was a long-time Christian and member of North Oak Church of Christ in Mount Vernon. She was married 59 years to her cherished husband, Floyd Sublett, until his passing in 2004. Also, preceding Barb in death were her parents, Elvis and Verdie Caldwell; sister, Peggy Tankersley (Herman) and grandchild, Danny Allen Sublett.

She is survived by son, Danny Sublett (Connie) of Elkland, Missouri and daughters, Rosemary Gilbert of Vilonia, Joan Pearce (Rickey) of Mount Vernon, Shelia Berry (John) of Conway, Tammy Sublett of Mount Vernon; brother, Gary Caldwell (Bonnie) of Mount Vernon; sister, Debbie Mears of Conway; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

"Granny Barb" was well known for her dedication to her grandchildren. They loved to visit her and she tried to attend as many ball games and school events as she could. She was famous for attending softball games in Mount Vernon during her final years, even when she had to sit in a wheelchair or sit in the car to watch and cheer.

Barb was her own person. She had a mischievous wit and beautiful smile. She loved deeply but was also quick to speak her opinion. She was famous for her ability to grow beautiful plants and flowers. She loved babies and never missed an opportunity to hold them and love on them. She was a big fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and was especially fond of the basketball team because she played basketball for Mount Vernon School. She was known to express her frustration when the Razorbacks were missing too many "free pitches" in a tight game.

She was also a big fan of Elvis Presley. She even had "coffee with Elvis" for many years, drinking her morning java out of her large Elvis mug.

A visitation for Barb will be Monday, September 11, 6pm-8pm, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 12, 2pm, at Roller-McNutt followed by interment at Heffington Cemetery in Enola.

Not enough words to explain how greatly she will be missed. Thank you for creating this big crazy family, for loving us so big when we didn't deserve it and for teaching us all to put God at the forefront of our lives. You may be gone but your legacy will live on forever.
Prayers to all of my family, love you all!
