Doris Nichele of Mountain Home, Arkansas died Saturday, September 9, 2023. Doris was born in Chicago on September 14, 1940 to Roy and Helen Olson. Doris was first married to Richard Blanchard in Chicago in 1960 and later married Ronald Nichele in Chicago in 1973. Doris and Ronald retired in Mountain Home in 2004.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Nancy Blanchard of Mountain Home and sons, Michael (Laura) Blanchard of Lombard, Illinois and Douglas (Teresa) Nichele of Western Springs, Illinois. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald and her older siblings, Alyce (Robert) Moe, Lynn (Sandy) Cameron, Nancy (Joel) Arnier, Leroy Olson and William (Margaret) Olson.
Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, as well as Captain Nathan Watkins Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. As a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain Home, Doris was involved in many church activities.
Doris' professional career as a registered nurse included time spent in pediatrics, the NICU and as a home healthcare nurse and Director of a hospice organization. She also spent time as an auditor for the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Her many hobbies and talents included music, playing guitar, dulcimer and piano, as well as painting, focusing on her favorite, watercolor.
An avid animal lover, she and Ronald were human parents to several dogs over time and Doris also shared her home with two cats.
Memorial donations in Doris' name may be made to the North Central Arkansas Humane Society located on AR-201 in Mountain Home and Rocky Ridge Refuge in Midway.
Visitation for Mrs. Doris Nichele will be held at Roller Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Roller Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
Saying good by to an old friend is never easy. May there be peace and love for Doris and the family.

Doris was such fun at our Book Club with her dry humor and smile. Such an animal lover. She was very blessed to have Nancy with her, a very loving daughter. She will be missed.
