Onita Quarles, 74, of East Point, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, August 16, 2023. She was born March 30, 1949, in Twin Groves, Arkansas, to Louis and Willie Mae Kemp. Onita was preceded in death by her brother, Dewey Lee Kemp, Shelby Kemp, Sr., and Terry Lee Kemp as well as her sister, Betty Wayne Macon and both parents.
She attended Guy-Perkins High School in Guy, Arkansas, and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in Flint, Michigan. She went on to study at Mott College and Detroit College of Business. Throughout her life she was a serial entrepreneur involved in numerous business ventures such as a few clothing stores, a cleaning service, and a nail salon among them. From Michigan to California and then on to Georgia she accumulated many friends and acquaintances along the way.
Onita is survived by her son, Jamal Quarles and his wife, Tricia; three grandchildren, Afeni, Jamaal, and Miles; a (step) granddaughter, Ta'lor, and two great-grandchildren, Zy'aire and Syncere; two sisters, Della McGowan, and Scottie Clemons, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00am, at Solomon Grove Baptist Church in Twin Groves, Arkansas. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Solomon Grove Cemetery.

Onita will definitely be missed! Her entrepreneurial spirit has been an encouraging motivation. Her love for life will be an everlasting inspiration to me and my family. Always in our hearts.
