of Mayflower, AR
August 27, 1938 - August 17, 2023
Janice Harrell was at home on August 17, 2023 when she left this earth for her eternal home with loved ones waiting to welcome her. Janice is the daughter of James "Hollie" Raney and Francis "Poopsie" Raney.
She lived a full life in Mayflower as a homemaker and farmer's wife with her husband, Frankie and her two children, Nicki and Frank.
Janice loved her home, which was evidenced by her wonderful sense of style and beauty. Her ability to incorporate old and new into a showplace was envied by many. Her own sister, Ann, would tell everyone that Janice was the "Shinola" in the family.
Janice was a sweet and gracious southern lady. Her demeanor toward everyone was always warm, friendly and accepting, unless you crossed her. Then she would still be that gracious southern lady, but with a cool "Bless Your Heart" and a not so warm look.
Janice was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Frankie; her parents, James and Francis Raney; her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Royce Harrell and her brother, Jimmy Raney.
She is survived by her children, Nicki (Marlin) Reagan and Frank Harrell; her granddaughters, Lacye (Tracey) Blake and Raney (Leland) Shelton; her great-grandsons, Dallas Blake and Kai Shelton and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She loved her granddaughters so much until the great-grandsons came along. Then it was all about Dallas and Kai. They were her daily dose of sunshine and it made her sad if she didn't get to see them every day.
As the matriarch of the Raney and Harrell families, Janice will be greatly missed by all her friends and loved ones.
Sending my condolences to the family...she was my Mom as well.
