Robert Charles Finley, Sr., 58, of Mayflower, Arkansas peacefully passed on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Mayflower Cemetery in Mayflower, Arkansas. The service arrangements are by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas.
Robert was born to parents, Charles and Mary (Uekman) Finley on October 28, 1964 in Rose City, Arkansas. He attended school in North Little Rock, Jacksonville and Conway. Even though he lived in many different places over the years, he always called the valley in Mayflower "home".
Everyone who knew Robert knew that he loved great barbecue and great music. His favorite times were always sitting on the back deck, cooking a smoker full of meat for family and friends while classic rock blared out of one of the (many) radios he always had on. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, through thick and thin. He was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest and was always quick with a good story or a terrible pun.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Charles and mother, Mary and several siblings. He is survived by his children, Kate Finley of Conway, Arkansas, Robi and wife, Julie of Springfield, Missouri, as well as Matthew Finley, Christina Castillo, Victoria Waite and Cathrine Stevenson and caregivers, Robin and Missy and a whole slew of family and friends that are going to miss him dearly.
Robert's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at Conway Regional Hospital for the comfort and care provided to him. Extra-special thanks to his constant cat companions that always kept him company throughout the years.
The family asks that In lieu of flowers, contributions to Robert's final arrangements be made to Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas.
