Patsy Helton Hardy

of Lexa, AR

August 21, 1936 - June 22, 2023

Patsy Helton Hardy, age 86, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023. She was born on Friday, August 21, 1936 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Jerome Curby Helton and Lucille Malcolm Helton.

Pat was a dedicated employee of the former Arkansas Power and Light Company for 44 years. She worked in the Helena office and truly enjoyed her work and all the friends she made along the way.

A nearly lifelong resident of Phillips County, she was a true country girl, "as tough as a two-dollar steak" her husband, Pete, would say. They were long-time members of the Jackson Point Hunt Club and spent a great deal of their time roaming the woods and running up and down the Mississippi River. She enjoyed every moment.

She married Pete mid-life and was as devoted to him as anyone could be. She provided constant care for him, during a difficult period, as his life began to fade away. Although it eventually took a toll on her life, she would not have had it any other way.

Pat was a kind and caring person; you would never meet anyone who was as nice. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie; son, Tim; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil "Pete" Hardy; two sons, Mark and Jeff; parents, Jerome and Lucille; sister, Mildred; four brothers, James, Lester, Alfred and Robert.

A graveside service for Patsy Helton Hardy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas. Brother Rudy Weaver will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express their thanks to Susan Kennedy, who provided care and support for her last two years. They would also like to thank the Elite Hospice staff for all their support and care during Pat's last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lexa First Baptist Church in Pat's memory.

I hardly know where to begin. I love you Aunt Pat more than I can put into words. You have always been there for me, loved me & supported me, even though we live so far apart. I cherished our phone calls & wish I could have done more to help you with Uncle Pete & to just spend more time with you. You always listened to me & didn’t judge me! One of the most special things you told me was how proud Daddy (Al) was of my blood donation. That means the world to me & I dedicate reaching my 90th gallon of blood donation (just 1 pint to go!) to you! You (& Uncle Pete) allowed me to come visit y’all & relish the taste of all of your delicious Southern Cooking. You also took me places while I visited & were exceedingly nurturing & supportive. I will never eat peach cobbler or chicken & dumplings again without thinking of you. Such special memories of such a special lady. Going to the hunting lease at Jackson Point was extra special too, definitely different for me. Thank you for all that you have done for me. I love ❤️ you with all my heart & soul & miss you so very much! See ya later Lady Bug 🐞
