of Maumelle, AR
May 18, 1950 - June 19, 2023
Kenneth Joe McClellan, Sr., 73, of Maumelle, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, June 19, 2023. He was born May 18, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Joe and Marcie McClellan. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Ken ''Pop'' McClellan was an artist, entrepreneur, gardener, carpenter, handyman and an outdoorsman. Some of his achievements include being a five-time Mid-Southern Watercolorist, leading to his paintings being displayed in the Arkansas Supreme Court building, the USS AR and commissioned paintings for Oaklawn Racing Track. He and June owned and operated Arkansas Display for over twenty plus years. Arkansas Display was a family business through and through. He and his oldest son were both graphic designers and they worked together on projects large and small. His oldest daughter was able to make some extra money working in the summer. During those years, they made several trips to Wyoming, where they would camp, hike and he was able to enjoy his favorite place on earth with the love of his life. After retiring the first time, he helped his youngest son at his restaurant for many years. After his second retirement, he became an avid gardener with a backyard full of vegetables, which he would turn into picture-worthy dishes. As June would attest, Pop could never truly retire; he continued to be the handyman extraordinaire, helping his sister-in-law, kids and anyone who needed it. He was always on call for anyone who couldn't figure out how to fix, build or grow anything. Additionally, he was remotely collaborating with his oldest son in Philadelphia on many projects as well as paintings via FaceTime.
He was a member of New Life Church and active in the men's ministry, where he made wonderful, lasting friendships. His love for God was only rivaled by his love for family. He was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, June McClellan; sons, Jay (Stephanie) and Hunter (Esther) McClellan; daughters, Amy (John) Lloyd and Jennifer (J.B.) Mobley; brother David (Maggie) McClellan; sister, Carey (Jim) Stuart; grandchildren, Turner, Lucas and Joseph Lloyd, Kenley and Jacey Mobley, Cooper, Parker and Harper McClellan and Sophie McClellan; along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Benevolent Hound, New Life Church designated to the Men's Ministry, or Renewal Ranch.
A celebration of life service will be on June 30, 2023 at 11:00am at New Life Church, Student Center, 8000 Crystal Hill Rd. North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.

Jay & Hunter,
I have such fond memories of your dad in the early days of Maumelle. My sons spent many fun times with you both blazing trails in Maumelle. My oldest Jason is in heaven with your dad. My heart goes out to June and both of your families during this difficult time.
June,
You and I have been friends and practically sisters since we were small children. I wish I could be there for you now. I'm crying as I write this because I want to help you, but I can't.
I was so happy when I learned, many years ago, that you had found your "Mr. Right." You had many happy years of love together. During Kenny's illnesses, he knew that he was loved by you and his family and was in caring hands. Now he's in loving hands in Heaven, and you know he's no longer in any discomfort.
Tommy and I are praying for you and Kenny's family.
Love you,
Cindy
