Ann Horton

of Conway, AR

September 9, 1940 - June 16, 2023

Mary Annetta "Ann" Horton, age 82, of Conway, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at Stonebridge Assisted Living in Conway, Arkansas with her family by her side. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on September 9th, 1940 to Harmon Owens and Odie Oliver Owens.

Ann was a faithful member of the Morrilton First Assembly of God Church. She worked for many years as office manager for Horton Chevrolet in Morrilton. She later became manager of the Toadsuck One Stop. Ann loved farming, horses, cows and just being outdoors. She especially enjoyed helping her daddy on the farm in her younger days. She was an excellent seamstress and liked to crochet. She enjoyed shopping so much that she is remembered as the family "professional shopper". Family meant the world to Ann. She loved watching her grandkids play ball and loved hanging out with her best friend, Owen. She loved much and was loved greatly in return. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sons, Todd Horton (Jodi) of Fort Worth, Texas, Eric Horton (Carrie) of Conway and Randy Horton (Traci) of Argyle, Texas; grandchildren, Owen Horton of Conway, Shea Horton of Whitehall, Alex Horton, Cal Horton, Natalie Horton Eaton (Ed), Payton Horton Hancock (Preston), Austin Horton (Jody) and Matthew Horton all of Fort Worth, Texas; step-grandchildren, Blaze Horton (Cassie) of Springfield, Illinois, Keifer Horton (Morgan) of Fort Worth, Texas, Luke Urrey of Little Rock, Becca Urrey of Monticello, Lance Rogers of Conway and Chase Rogers also of Conway; one sister, Mary Owens Hinesley of Mountain View and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who will also mourn her passing.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Odie Owens; her brother, H.V. McCasland; one sister, Lora Beth McCasland Martin; brothers-in-law, Clinton R. Hinesley and Walter Leon Martin; nephews, Wes Hinesley, Richard McCasland, Darrell Martin, Michael Martin and Kurt Wayne Martin and one step-son, Jeffery Bryan Horton.

Funeral services for Ann will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Paul Doan officiating. Visitation will be 11-12 preceding the service. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery where Ann will be laid to rest beside her parents. Bearers will be Owen Horton, Cal Horton, Keifer Horton and Lance Rogers.

My deepest sympathy and prayers for the Horton family. Ann was such a sweet lady and I always enjoyed visiting with her at StoneBridge Assisted Living when my mother was a resident there. She would often speak words of love for her family and she understood my pain as I watched my mother decline in health. They were friends to each other prior to them both living at StoneBridge. I'm comforted in knowing that my mom and Ann are once again together and talking about old times. God Bless and rest well dear lady.

Ann was such a blessing and calm spirit in my younger years. She had great words of wisdom and guidance for a young lady marrying her youngest son. I watched her example of Christian living and know she is with her heavenly father today. Prayers go out to the family.

Condolences to the family. Saw Ann and son Eric at a Thanksgiving gathering in 2021 in Conway. Had a very pleasant visit with them talking about, what else, Marshall and Hortons. My sincere condolences to the family. She was indeed the embodiment of a Horton Matriarch.
