Mary Ann Hallum Petray, 79, of Maumelle went to be with the Lord June 11, 2023. She was the mother of Jennifer and Frank Petray. Mary Ann was born on July 21, 1943 in Tomberlin, Arkansas to Henry and Thelma Hallum.

Mary Ann went to Nursing School at St. Vincent's in Little Rock to become a Registered Nurse. She gave of herself in the profession of nursing for over 40 years. When a calming, quiet presence was all that was needed, She was there. And now, that it is time to be at the Greater One's side, She is there. At one time she was head nurse at England Hospital in England, Arkansas. Much of her career was in public health nursing. She embraced a diverse range of friends and family and was known for her witty banter.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Thelma Hallum of Tomberlin, Arkansas and her brother, Morris Hallum of England, Arkansas. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Petray (spouse, Tyra Reid) of Little Rock and her son, Frank Petray (wife, Elizabeth) of Van Buren; grandchildren, Conner Petray of Van Buren, Chandler Petray (wife, Briana) of Seattle, Washington, Alisyn Reid (husband, Aaron Baggett) of Little Rock and Adam Reid of Los Angeles, California; great-grandchild, Genevieve Reid of Little Rock; nephew, Chris Hallum and niece, Beverly Clubbs both of England; cousins, Vernon Hallum of Little Rock, Don Compton of England, Neil Compton of Coy, Sandy Torres of Fayetteville, Ronald Hallum of San Diego, California, Roger Hallum of North Carolina and Robin Goldsmith of Denver, Colorado.

A special THANK YOU from family to all the staff that helped take care of mom in her final years. And a very special THANK YOU to Samantha, Hollie, Carrie and Donyah, you were family to mom.

A Graveside Service for family will be held at the Tomberlin Cemetery on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. Grace Ellen Rice Officiating.
