Tom Sparks

of Lakeview, AR

June 1, 1958 - June 10, 2023

Tom Sparks, a beloved member of the Lakeview, Arkansas community, passed away on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 in Mountain Home, AR. He was 65 years old. Tom was born on June 1, 1958 and throughout his life, he touched the lives of many with his kindness, talent and love.
In his early years, Tom worked as an air conditioning specialist, utilizing his technical skills to provide comfort to those around him. Later on, he pursued his passion for technology and became the proud owner and operator of a computer store. Tom's dedication and expertise in the field allowed him to serve his customers with utmost professionalism and care.
Beyond his professional life, Tom had a deep love for music and was known for his ability to play a wide range of instruments. Whether it was strumming a guitar, picking a banjo, or picking up any other instrument, he possessed a remarkable talent that brought joy to those who heard him play. Additionally, he found great pleasure in motorcycle riding, model trains, square dancing, as well as fishing and hunting adventures with his children and grandchildren. Above all else, Tom's love for his family was immeasurable. He was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Nancy Sparks, with whom he shared countless memories and a deep bond. Their love and commitment to one another were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Tom's memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Sparks; his son, Gary of San Diego, CA; his daughter, Jennifer of Lakeview, AR and his two granddaughters, Nichole (Steven) of Rhome, TX and Analee of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Earlene (Larry) Tucker and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom's departure leaves a void in the lives of his special friends, John and Gerri Parr, Jan Halligan, Truman and Geula Dover and Holly and Moose, who shared many memorable moments with him. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth (Phinney) Sparks and brother, Sam Sparks.
The family invites friends and loved ones to gather in celebration of Tom's life and to share treasured memories on Saturday, June 24th, at 2:00 pm at Roller Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tom's memory to the Fund a Family.
Tom will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his generous spirit and his steadfast love for those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will be felt every day, walking beside us, unseen but never forgotten. As the saying goes, "Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and very dear."
Services are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
As an expression of sympathy, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tom's memory to the Fund a Family link on this page.

My thoughts and prayers are with you today and always. Tom was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. I’ll never forget how he took me for my first motorcycle ride, or him playing guitars with Sam over at the house, etc, so many fond memories… too many to list. To Nancy, Gary and Jennifer I know you loved Tom deeply and I know he loved you just as much or more. My heart breaks for all of you.

Tom entered this family at a time when he was so very needed and was such a blessing to all of us. He was our resource for information dealing with computers, heating & cooling issues & so much more. Many a phone call over the years and always ready to help at a moment's notice. More importantly was the way he treated Nancy with tender loving care and immediately accepted Gary & Jennifer as his own kids. We were privileged to have known him and will miss his calm & gentle presence.

I wish I could’ve known Tom better. He was my uncle through his marriage to Nancy. But my family moved long ago, when I was still a young kid. Last summer was the first time I’d seen him in 12 years. I didn’t know what to expect and was nervous about seeing everyone again. He was extremely kind and welcoming, and he made it feel as though I’d never left. I enjoyed getting to talk with him and just catch up on what everyone had been up to. I’ll never forget getting to shake his hand and give him a hug on my last day there last summer before heading back to Ohio, and hearing his kind words, and that he was proud of me. I want to give my condolences to Nancy and the rest of the family, I will keep you in my prayers.

Nancy and Family-Tom was one of a kind. He was a great friend. His sense of humor was tremendous.
Tom worked with me for over 10 years. His common sense and problem-solving skills were second to none. I treasured his friendship and feel blessed to have known him. He will be missed .
