Betty Carolyn ''Carol'' (Woods) Lewis
April 10, 1953 May 24, 2023

Betty Carolyn ''Carol'' (Woods) Lewis passed away peacefully at her home in East End, Arkansas on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Carol was 70 years old and was a member of Forest Tower Baptist Church in Hensley, Arkansas. Carol was born to Wayne and Betty (Williford) Woods on April 10, 1953 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She served many roles in her life, the most rewarding of which was a caregiver to those in need. She loved making other people's lives easier and she often became as attached to them as they were to her. She helped many people in many ways, but she was most proud of the time she spent giving back to her own family in her parents' time of need.

Aside from helping others, Carol loved to have a good time. Anyone who knew her can visualize the pep in her step, the lift in her voice and the positive attitude she typically displayed. Even after suffering a debilitating stroke, Carol kept her optimism. She got to know her nurses, physical therapists and others who helped care for her when she couldn't care for herself. She would talk and laugh with them, telling them stories and bragging about her kids and grandkids. In her spare time, Carol wrote poetry, painted rocks, arranged flowers and completed other arts and crafts projects for people she cared about. She could make a dollar stretch farther than anyone and despite her limited resources, she gave money regularly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Betty (Williford) Woods; her brother, David Woods and her sister, Sheila Woods.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Woods (Crystal) and Gary Brewer, Jr. (Kristi); her grandsons, Michael Blaine Woods (Andrea), Brennan Brewer and Evan Woods; sisters, Brenda Hatley and Nicki Woods; many nieces, nephews and extended family members and her sweet dog, Mollie.

All those whose lives were touched by Carol are invited to attend a memorial service at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31st. The family would appreciate it if you could share a special memory of Carol on the digital guestbook. While flowers are welcome, donations can also be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as an expression of sympathy

Aunt Carol was one of a kind. Carol was not actually a aunt to me by blood, but you don't have to be blood related to be family, I've known Carol for many years and she was always willing to help anyone if it was within her power she helped you. Carol loved her family dearly and i loved her dearly. I stayed with her dog on several occasions when she had to stay in the hospital and let me tell you something about her dog Mollie, when Mollie was ready to go to bed you had to go to bed with her, Mollie would sit and stare you down until you got up and went into Carol's room and went to bed with her. And I did. Lol
Carol deeply loved her Mollie. Carol took care of her mom and dad in there final days and didn't hesitate to do it, I wish I had went and seen Carol after she came home I wanted to so much because she and I needed to deal with an issue we had. But Aunt Carol you now know the truth. And that's a load off of my heart because you know now , The truth I love ya Aunt Carol you were so special to so many people, and loved by so many, Aunt Carol was a beautiful soul. I'll miss ya and I've been missing ya, but your with Betty and Pop now and David and Sheila. God's speed Aunt Carol gods speed and until we meet again. I'll be seeing ya on the other side one day love ya

Such sad news to hear. This world just got a little bit darker without this lady’s bright and shiny presence! She was an awesome person to know and an even better friend to have! She will definitely be missed by those who knew her and I feel sorry for those who didn’t because they missed their chance of meeting the one-of-a-kind person that she was!

Love and condolences,

So many good memories of Carol over the last 8½ years. The most recent, however, would be of when I went to visit her in the hospital. She still made jokes, and was in good spirits despite everything. When she came home & I was asked to help her, I didn't hesitate. She was still so positive & happy to see me. We talked all day long. What stands out the most, is how she was still thinking of others. She told me that she needed to go see her niece, who going through an amazing recovery. Carol was thinking about her a lot, & hated that she was going through so much. That is a perfect example of the type of person Carol was, all the time. She was struggling herself & needed someone with her 24/7 (which she absolutely hated by the way), yet she still thinking of others, & weighed heavy on her heart. If I was capable & Carol asked for something I would do it, because I hadno doubt she would do the same for me. She will be missed, but to those who knew her, she definitely will not be forgotten. She loved us all with all her heart.

My Aunt Carol was one of the strongest people I have known in my life. No matter how hard times were, she would keep her head up and make the most of it. She taught me those values and I couldn't be more blessed to have her in my life. I'll be there for others just the way she was there for me growing up.
