Johnny Steven Hawkins, 71, of Batesville passed away May 13, 2023.
He was born February 4, 1952 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to John Thomas and Lela Pauline (Fulbright) Hawkins.
Johnny was a veteran of the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was a heavy equipment operator who worked road construction in California. Johnny was a loyal friend to many and loved animals, he rescued many dogs. He loved to tinker on stuff and was a collector of motorcycles and cars.
Survivors include five sisters, Janice Converse of Strawberry, Nancy Sweet of Winchester, Kentucky, Karen Goble of Dwale, Kentucky, Beth Sheldon of Buford, Georgia, and Lee Zettel of Stedman, North Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
