Mr. Theodore Wayne Rowe, 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas died Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Mountain Home. He was born on April 16, 1936 to Noel and Wilma (Neyhouse) Rowe on a farm in rural Batesville, Arkansas. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, deer hunting with a bow and arrow, fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Theodore graduated from Charlotte High School in 1954, where he attended Beebe Junior College until 1956. He then continued his education at Arkansas State Teacher's College until 1958, receiving a BSE certification. Upon his graduation, he began work as a department store manager in England, Arkansas. He married Patricia A. (Price) Rowe on June 3, 1959. He served in the Arkansas National Guard from 1958-1968 and assisted with the Little Rock Nine in their integration at Little Rock Central High School. He went to work for Arkansas Power and Light (Entergy) in 1966. He was transferred to the Harrison office in 1969. He then served as a customer service representative for Baxter County until 1970. In 1971, he became the North Central Arkansas Manager of Entergy, for Baxter, Marion, Stone and Izard counties. He retired from Entergy in September of 1995 but went on to contract out as a design engineer for 5 more years, retiring permanently in 2000. He served as an elder for the Mountain Home Church of Christ for 19 years.
Theodore is survived by 2 daughters, Dana (George) Rowlett and Mandy (Doug) Brown both of Mountain Home; 5 grandchildren, Mollie (Alex) Salazar of Birmingham, Alabama, Sam (Emma) Rowlett of Little Rock, Arkansas, Meredith Rowlett of Dallas, Texas, Grant Dodson of Hollister, Missouri, Marleigh (Travis) Lewis of Conway, Arkansas and 4 great-grandchildren, Porter, Edith and Evalyn Salazar and Sawyer Rowlett. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Mountain Home Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Baxter Memorial Gardens.
So sorry to hear about Theo’s passing. My father Noel had many stories of mischief that Theo and him found themselves in! Condolences from the Rowe’s.
