Mrs. Joyce Mudgett Pumford, 94, of Gassville, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023 in Mountain Home. She was born on December 09, 1928 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Oscar and Vada (Henson) Hawley. She was married to John Mudgett for 45 years. She was a member of the Addison Methodist Church and a retiree of Addison Savings and Loan. She was a proud volunteer of Baxter Regional Medical Center with 21 1/2 years and over 8,000 hours spent at the Bargain Box, the Pinkadilly Store and as a greeter at the hospital. She loved gardening in her flower garden, music (a love which she passed on to her children and grandchildren), participating in her many social groups and spending time with her family.
Joyce is survived by 3 children, Joyce (Ernie), Susan (Walter) and John (Patricia); 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 sisters, Nell, Myrna, Judy and Ann and 1 daughter-in-law, Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Mudgett; second husband, Jim Pumford; 1 son, Michael; 1 grandson, Brandon and 5 siblings, Ramona, Barbara, O.V., David and Gary.
A visitation will be held between 1pm-2pm on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Roller Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow. Inurnment will be at Baxter Memorial Gardens.
My condolences to the family. I loved that sweet lady. We bowled together on the Railroad Group some years back. She was quite a treasure. More recently I visited with her twice at the Bargain Box. I am glad I got to give her a hug at that time. See you in heaven lovely lady.

Joyce was such a joy to volunteer with, she made us laugh. She was one classy lady. She will be missed.

Dear Susan, Joyce, John, Sandy, Adam & Garret - I am so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. I sure did enjoy talking with her. I will miss - Ms. Joyce! God rest her sweet sweet soul!!!! I am so glad I got to see her a few weeks ago and gave her a big hug!
I worked with Ms.Joyce for several years at the Bargain Box. Her good nature, and genuine humor was something we all looked forward to every Tuesday afternoon. Her empty chair has already become a reminder of her absence. She will always be remembered with special affection.
