Billie Ruth Vaught Vire, 94, died on March 31, 2023, in Clarksville, Arkansas. She was born to Denvis Harold Vaught and Zoe Nell Adkins Vaught on August 21, 1928 in Johnson County, Arkansas. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Alvin Vire, a daughter, Barbara Vire, and one brother, Harold Vaught. She is survived by brothers Gerald, Jimmy, and Donald Vaught (Eula), and by her children, Carol Chronister (Larry) and Alan Vire of Lamar, Jeff Vire (Debby) of Clarksville, and Keith Vire (Jan) of Fayetteville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Vire, Jonathan Vire, Jared Vire, Kris Vire, and Julie Weegens, and by three Great Grandchildren, Taytum, Jonah, and Elliott.
Billie attended school at Oark, and was married to Alvin from 1948 until his death at age 53 in 1975. She was a lifelong Baptist, attending 2nd Baptist Church in Clarksville for many years. She was an avid reader, and until her eyesight and her hearing failed later in life, read her Bible every day, and devoured hundreds of books.
The family will gather for a private memorial service at a later date. Billie's remains will be interred at Patterson Springs Cemetery in Johnson County.
