Mr. Sidney E. Rains, 79, of Coffeeville, MS, passed away on March 27, 2023, in Covington, TN.
Mr. Rains was born April 30, 1943, in West Memphis, Arkansas to William Harold Rains, and Ethel Louise Tucker-Rains.
Mr. Rains worked in the construction industry as a bridge builder, and painter prior to his retirement.
Mr. Rains was a fan of John Wayne, and old westerns. He was an outdoor man and enjoyed fishing and frying up his catch for his family.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Rains, siblings, Linda Logan, Martha Austin, Sonny Rains, Robert Rains, James Rains, Charles Rains, and J.R. Rains.
Survivors include a son, James Lamar Rains of Drummonds, TN, a daughter, Cindy Gardner, of Covington, TN., brothers: Patrick Rains of MS, Tommy Rains of AR, Harold Rains of IL, and Johnny Rains of AR., seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.

My sincere condolences to the family. Sidney was a character, one of a kind, and I enjoyed being around him. I wasn't around him a lot, but he had the same dry sense of humor as me,so we could make each other grin a lot.
RIP Sidney and fly high. Find all of the best fishing holes and I'll join you soon.
