Allen Roy Martin, age 82, of Helena, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on December 24, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Roy V. and Audie Fields Martin. Mr. Martin graduated from Hall Summit High School in 1959. After graduation he attended Morehead State University in Mississippi for one year and then transferred to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1963.
Upon completing his degree at NSU, Allen was employed by the following companies during his career: Texas Eastern Transmission in Shreveport, LA; Texas Instruments in Richardson and Stafford, TX; INMOS in Colorado Springs, CO and The City of Helena-West Helena, Chief of Staff 2011 until 2020.
Allen attended South Main Baptist Church in Houston, TX where he met Ann Marie Zito. She and Allen married July 24, 1982 and that love continues through eternity.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ann Marie Zito of Helena, Arkansas; one son, David Martin and his wife, Noelle of Katy, Texas; one brother, Edd Martin and wife, Barbara of Crawford, Texas; two sisters, Kathy Neely and husband, Russ Neely of Shreveport, LA and Virginia Langevin and husband, Jim Langevin of Ringgold, LA.
Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Roy V. and Audie Fields Martin and brother, Don Martin.
A funeral service for Allen Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Roller Citizens Chapel. Pastor Mike Collins will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Mike Taylor, Larry Delk, Arnell Willis, Oscar Hoskins, Roderick Brown and Demarcus Brown.

Ann Marie, I am so sorry about Allen. I didn't know him well but had a great conversation with him in Walmart one day and he gave me some wonderful advice. This was some time ago but I'll always remember that he took the time to do that. He was a wonderful man.
Broken hearts and sadness with the passing of a soul mate but find peace knowing that we get to join together again for eternity! Many prayers for all his loved ones as they go through this hard journey of loss.
