Cheryl, I was so sorry to read of your mom’s passing. I worked with her in mid-late 60’s at Orbit Valve. We worked in different departments but took breaks with most of the other women there. Pat was by far my favorite! She was such a joy to visit with and share stories. We had a lot of fun and laughs. I was pregnant during that time and after having 3 boys, I was thrilled to finally get my girl. I’d tell them that I couldn’t wait to start dressing her in pink. So when I made my little visit to show her off during one of their breaks, I had the prettiest little BLUE dress on her you ever saw! Pat really teased me about that.
Your mom was a real lady. A godly lady. One would know that at the first time you met. She loved her family so much and I didn’t even have to look in the obituary to see what your name was. I had heard Cheryl many times during our times together. Your dad was special too. I think I wrote in his condolences of the times he scraped snow off my car while he was waiting to get Pat. They were special people and will be missed by so many. I can almost know for sure how special you are as well having been their child. Enjoy your big family now and teach them what they taught you. God bless you and your family. (I was Nancy Elliott then)

Mrs. Pat was our next door neighbor and dear friend for the last 8 years. The first time I ever looked at our house, she had just pulled up and was checking her mail when I approached and asked how she liked the neighborhood. That’s when she informed me she had been there for many decades and loved it. We put the house under contract that day. I used to love running into Pat while she was outside filling her bird feeders. She would always fill me in on all of her great grandkids and then typically end on talking about what a great family and daughter she had. Always so kind and full of wisdom. As she became more confined to the house, we would meet on the porch and she would tell me all about the going ons in the neighborhood that she had seen while she was walking laps inside. She would always remind me that she wasn’t trying to spy on us lol. She didn’t know we appreciated the look out. Mrs. Pat will be sorely missed on Poinsetta Drive.

From the moment I met Pat, I was immediately drawn to her. She was so gracious and had a wonderful sense of humor. We would always compliment each other and decided we belonged to a mutual admiration society. She will be missed by so many. Our loss is heaven’s gain. Such joy for her now.

Cheryl/Dale. What an absolute picture of what a Christian woman is. I remember when I met her at PPBC. She was so kind and was one of those women who was a witness to me and I’m sure others. She will be missed.

A better family a mother can not wish for her son to be married into when Lauren married Jonathan. Patsy and I always sat close by each other and just got such a kick out of simply watching the kids. Her great grandchildren’s names were mentioned and her face would just light up. You could tell instantly she was sweet and kind and just special. We always teased each other we were the two oldest grandmas in the room and how lucky we were. I am so happy her health was so good as it was because as soon as anyone mentioned one of the kids had a school program or ballgame she was there! say someone was in a ball game or school event and she was there! The kids will always remember that. She is lighting up heaven now and one of Gods graces is she will Join with her family again, the ones she has missed for so long and the ones who will be missing her now. She was a wonderful part of God’s plan for this world and I feel blessed she opened her arms to my family when Lauren and Jonathan met! Sleep sweetly Ms Patsey and keep your arms around our sweet grandkids until I can come help you. Jill M.

This is a tough one. As I type with tears, I am reminded of one of my favorite quotes that I read 26 years ago when I lost my Mom… “When you lose someone you love, you gain an Angel that you know.”
My Aunt Pat peacefully passed away yesterday evening. I am a work in progress, but a much better person because of Aunt Pat. I was blessed to spend some time at her bedside last week. While she didn’t have the strength to put together sentences, the room lit up with her smile as she listened to loved ones talk. I will cherish that last smile and hold of the hand forever. Her skin was beautiful and glowing in what would be her final days. She knew where she was headed! The blessing of her constantly telling me how great my kids are and how great of a Dad I am is engrained in my mind and heart forever. We would often argue who was more blessed, but she always ended the conversation with how blessed she was. I loved watching and talking about “Everybody Loves Raymond” with her while she giggled. I will miss her telling me that I didn’t have to sit with her and all the old ladies at Church…lol. I would tell her how blessed I was to sit with her. She truly loved everyone and would end every conversation, visit, etc.. by saying how blessed she is. She was so excited a few years ago when my daughter and friends came over to sing Christmas carols, but all these girls would tell you that they were the ones receiving the blessing. Her smiling face and appreciative words to all the girls sums up her appreciation for others and life in general. I could go on and on, but I will end with saying- I love you Aunt Pat and thank you for loving and blessing me, Myla, and Grayson.
