Cecil Edgar Carter, 98, of Conway, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. He was born in Wooster, Arkansas to Thomas and Edna (Tilley) Carter on September 19, 1924.

Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Clara Carter; his parents and two sisters, Charlene Shamburger and Lucille Roberts.

He was veteran of the United States Navy during World War II where he was stationed in Hawaii. Cecil worked as a commercial fisherman, a taxidermist and enjoyed a long career at International Shoe Company until his retirement, which he spent raising cattle with his wife, Clara.

He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Berry (Roden); two brothers, Thomas Carter of Hot Springs and Jerry Carter of Texas; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside memorial held at a later date at Carter Cemetery in Vilonia.
