Lewis Bateman Sharp, 87, passed away Thursday, January 24th, 2023. Lewis was born January 9th, 1936, in Searcy, Arkansas to Lynn Lewis Sharp and Ruth Rebecca Sharp.

Lewis graduated from The University of Arkansas. His achievements in his lifetime career in weaponry included retired from the United States Army as Captain of The All Army Pistol Team, lifetime member of the NRA since 1965, assisted in writing and publishing several pistol training manuals, and retired district manager for Colt firearms manufacturing. Above all, Lewis was an avid gun collector.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rebecca Rowena Hamilton; his wife, Judy Porterfield Sharp, and his son, Stephen Lewis Sharp. He is survived by his son, Stuart Sharp; his grandchildren, Nathan and Amanda Sharp who helped take care of him in his final years, and Mattelyn Henderson Sharp.
The family requests any and all memorials be made in Lewis' name to the National Rifle Association.
