David was always good to me, especially when I transitioned from graduating high school in Rhode Island on to my freshman year at UA Fayetteville, 1969-70. David was a positive role model, always for me. He made a difference, made things okay somehow, no matter the.mess! My sincere condolences to his family. May God bless him and us all!

My favorite memory of my cousin David was on a car trip he took with our family. He taught my brothers, Doug and Philip, and me how to use sign language to get truck drivers to honk their horns. That was great fun until we got so boisterous that my father called a halt to the game! Another thing I remember from that trip was how outgoing David was; he made friends every place we went and the first thing he would say to girls was, "Well hello there!"
I appreciate the way David always made the effort to get to yearly Carroum family reunions so we could stay in touch and it meant so much to our family when he drove all the way to Neptune Beach, Florida for my father's funeral. He was loved and will be sincerely missed!
I'm praying for all David's family and friends: that you will have the Lord's comfort and peace and your memories of David will bring smiles through the years.

Zoomer, I hadn't seen you in awhile but it was still nice to know that you were around if I needed to talk to you about anything. I have missed watching the Razorbacks with you and discussing life in general. Thank you so much for
making me feel so welcome that afternoon I walked into Alley's. If it hadn't been for you I might have never met "Hardy" as you would occasionally call him. RIP my friend.

I will always remember the Zoomer (David) and the times we had together at Alley's. We watched sports, discussed and cussed everything that was current and in the past. He was pivotal in me finding the love of my life. He was a friend and the consummate curmudgeon. We will miss him, thanks David.

David and Ben,
My favorite memory of your dad was running Into him in L R and asking about you boys! The grin that popped on his face was huge and he had a twinkle in his eye! He loved his boys and never failed to brag about you two!
He was a great man and a true gentleman. I have great memories of spending time at David’s pool with all the tunas!
Please know my thoughts and prayers are way each and everyone of you!

A post script for my prior note:

But, much as I love David, I do think the right team won the “Game of the Century”!

Seems like there is something missing without David being around. Even though I haven’t seen him much recently, I’ll miss him a lot!

David, Steve Daugherty and I were cousins and the oldest of our generation — but David was oldest by a month and never let us forget it. There was always a lot of fun and competition among the three of us. Some blame it on the competitiveness of our mothers, but my own theory is that its genetic among the Carroum’s. I can remember one occasion visiting David while we were in high school. He very nearly drowned me several times, teaching me how to play water polo — but he was smiling and laughing the whole time.

Regardless of what he was going through, it seemed like David always had a smile on his face and twinkle in his eyes. He was a joy to be around and will be missed. May the Lord bless him and his family.

I often worked with David at Falcon Jet and always received first class care for my customers. He was a true pro in his work and more importantly a good friend, just a fine guy and a Razorback to the core. My condolences to his family.

David was such a sweetheart and a good friend. He always asked about my family, my children, and what we have been up to. We will miss our every other week visits. He was loved by our family and many friends. We can’t wait to be reunited in heaven. My last visit David allowed me to pray with him, it was an honor, I know I will see him again in eternity.

I have such nice memories of David. I met him at the University of Arkansas in my freshman year (1969) before I met Tony in my sophomore year. My dorm was across from his fraternity house and those guys would hang out the windows and offer the girls rides up the hill to classes. It was a fun and pretty innocent time. I always enjoyed reminiscing with him at the reunions. May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted with their memories of him. God bless you all, Linda Daugherty

Carla, Lauren and family. I was so sad to hear the passing of my ole pal David. He was such a great guy and we always teased each other with our college teams my LSU Tigers - and his Arkansas Razorbacks. David will always be in my heart.
