Stacy Ann Petty

of Little Rock, AR

April 14, 1977 - January 16, 2023

Stacy Ann Robinson Pitsch Petty came into this world, a bright light, on the 14th of April, 1977. From childhood on, her red hair always glistened with the glow of the sun as she took in the spirit of love and beauty around her.

A dedicated and caring APRN who rose to the ranks of director of the HealthNOW program at UAMS, Stacy was first and foremost mother to Brynn Pitsch, whom she was immensely proud of for her kind heart and keen intellect. Her face simply beamed when she talked of her only child. Stacy delighted in sharing that Brynn is to graduate a year early and has indicated that she plans to follow in her mother's footsteps and work in a scientific field where she can help others.

Helping others was second nature to Stacy. From the start of her career as a NICU nurse, to taking in stray animals, making care packages for the homeless or giving to women and children's causes, Stacy was always reaching out and giving of herself. She achieved her credentials to be a certified yoga instructor, which she felt kept her centered and grounded. Stacy had an impressive eye for art and fashion and enjoyed travel and music. In 2017, she made a trip to Iceland that would change her outlook on life. While overseas her credit cards were lost and she had to rely on the help of strangers in her yoga travel group. Through the process of being vulnerable, Stacy discovered new strength and emerged revived and focused.

In addition to her beloved Brynn, left to cherish her memory are her parents, Rebecca Rice and David Robinson (Julie); brothers, Chris Robinson (Christy) and Josh Robinson (Wendy); niece, Brooklyn Robinson and nephews, Cole Robinson and Joey Robinson; grandmother, Patsy Cheatham; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who were like family. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Rice and grandparents, Joe Cheatham and Lucille Jordan. The family would like to extend their thanks to Zach Pitsch, Brynn's father.

Stacy's life was cut short due to domestic violence on the 16th of January, 2023. She was just 45 years old and was eagerly looking forward to new beginnings. Days before her last breath, Stacy wrote, "I have started 2023 with nothing but love, support and kindness so I am blessed. Thank you. All of you. For seeing my intention and seeing me". To know Stacy was to see the light of love that permeated every aspect of her being.

To honor Stacy's life, please make a donation to a charity of your choice that has a positive impact on women, children or pets. If you would like to do more, a group of friends will be accepting donations of items for homeless care packages and feminine hygiene products, which will be distributed locally through the help of one of her favorite organizations, The Van. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, get resources for help by reaching out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.

The family would like to thank the Arkansas Nurses Honor Guard for performing the Nightingale Ceremony to honor Stacy's life of service, as well as Women's Own Worth (WOW) for providing purple ribbons to unify us and bring awareness to domestic violence. Honorary pallbearers are Stacy's fellow nurses, specifically her colleagues at UAMS. Those raising Stacy on her final walk are her brothers, Chris and Josh; father, David, Zach Pitsch; Justin Saxon and Brian Dunaway.

I am so sorry for your unimaginable loss. Stacy cared for me while I was a patient. She went out of her way for me. She was kind and warm and made me feel safe and seen. She had such a deep impact on me. She was diligent and driven to do the absolute best for me as her patient. She laughed at my terrible jokes like she intrinsically knew I was trying to ease my own anxiety (my jokes certainly weren't funny). Her loss is tragic beyond words. My heart and prayers are with you all.

In 2020, Stacy fostered our puppy before he made his way up to Massachusetts for adoption. We stayed in touch on social media afterwards, and though we didn’t talk often, it was always a pleasure to hear from Stacy. It was clear that she was someone who loved deeply and never hesitated to support a friend in need. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brynn and the rest of Stacy’s family. 🤍🕊

The UAMS College of Nursing was fortunate to call Stacy one of our own. For many years, Stacy shared her nursing expertise with our students. They benefited from her intellectual curiosity, patient-centered approach, integrity, and natural teaching ability. Stacy brought so many gifts to our lives. We are devastated by her death. Our hearts go out to you in this time of sorrow.

Rebecca and Family -

I am absolutely gutted by the loss of horrific loss of Stacey.

I will never forget her support and kindness as a new anxious mother with a child who just came out of NICU. She assured me countless times and was such a life line.

She was a treasure that will be greatly missed.

I met Stacy at UAMS she was my nurse at Dr. Wolters office. She was the BEST nurse I have ever met. I was going through a whole world wind of chaos from my breast cancer diagnosis and complications. She became my true friend we laughed and cried together through so many things. I could always call her for anything and she was always willing to help me with anything. I feel like I know Brynn just from our visits although she has never met me. She was her pride and joy. I loved this woman and she got me through the hardest time in my life. I know God gave me her on my journey and I know she is still a beautiful angel looking over us like she always has. I will truly miss her and never forget her.
Love,

Stacy, to know you was to love you. From high school girl to a young woman purposefully driven to make a difference not only in your own life, but in everyone’s you met. Your radiance shines. Brynn …you without a doubt, are the reason for her absolute need for this world to be a better place, her longing to give and to love. She was always striving for the best version of herself, for the two of you. As the families hairdresser for many years, I was honored to watch you all grow. Her warm spirit, beautiful grace and all inspiring love will be with us forever.

2015 & I got the opportunity to live across from Stacy & Brynn. We became friends fairly quick especially since Brynn was wearing the hide off a volleyball against the garage every afternoon. Stacy seemed to me to be very similar to my daughter who worked in the health world & we had a chance to talk about that. Both Stacy & Brynn were life forces & my wife & I enjoyed basking in that force. They moved & I moved but we stayed in touch thru FB & messenger. I’ll miss her terribly & wish only peace & a fulfilling life for Brynn.

I was lucky enough to know Stacy over the past few years through a small group of women who get together regularly. There are few people who are as compassionate, thoughtful, and giving as Stacy. It was a bright and obvious part of who she was - she gave of herself and sought no attention or recognition, which is a rarity. She wore her heart on her sleeve and it was truly something to be around her when she was feeling joyous, happy, and free - her smile lit up the room and her laughter was contagious. I miss her dearly.

This just doesn’t seem real! I knew Stacy as Stacy Pitsch! We worked together in urgent care. My early years as a fresh LPN, Stacy helped me in any way she could. She was an excellent teacher. Soo witty, sassy (we share this), and just down right kind. She was not only my coworker but my friend! We kept in touch via social media and she cherished her daughter, Brynn. Stacy was/is a beautiful light, just a rare gem that I hate was taken from this earth. She touched soo many lives! Her kindness and love of nursing and people will live on and all that encountered Stacy! Prayers of healing to all family and friends but especially to Brynn! My heart goes out to you! 💔❤️🕊️

I worked with Stacy at UAMS during her leadership of digital health. She was a joy and a pleasure to share time with. So humble yet so smart. Open to trying new things. To brainstorming. She was a leader and a friend. She often encouraged others when they felt confused or uncertain. She lifted others up. I am so sad she was taken away so young, but I know she is in a better place. Your smile and joyful presence will be missed Stacy!
