Karla Louise O'Neil

of Mountain Home, AR

November 20, 1953 - January 1, 2023

Karla Louise (Huddleston) O'Neil answered God's call on the early evening of January 1, 2023. Mrs. Huddleston O'Neil had family by her side when she left this world to be with the Lord. Karla, was the first of nine children born to Marvin Grundy Huddleston and Ola Suvenna(Flippin)Huddleston both of Flippin, Ar, on November 20, 1953, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was the mother of two, the grandmother of three, and the family of a troop!
Being the eldest of nine children, Karla started early on in life helping care for her siblings. This role led to a lifelong devotion to her family and '' mother-hen'' like disposition. Karla was a devote Southern Baptist and was a life-long church-goer, whether in person or television. Daily worship was sometimes more than than daily in her later years. She was an ''open-arms'' follower that believed God loves us all.
She was only 18 when she gave birth to her first daughter, Sherri, a few years later a son, Marvin ''Marty'' Tilley. She thought the world of her children and chose to stay home most of her life with them. This bond carried on into adulthood. Karla chose to leave her home, of all her life, with her adult children and move to Minnesota. She stayed over a decade, especially given her new-found and most important role- ''Grandma.'' Karla took pride in being a grandma and ADORED her grandchildren. She was known to keep multiple pictures of Jacob, Kyle, Samantha, and Whisper with her always and loved telling stories about them. They were her greatest love. Karla made it a point to stay in touch with not only her siblings, but their children, and their children! Known to be the Aunt that never misses your birthday on Facebook, a random message saying ''hi,'' to always be praying for you, and posting old family photos.
Karla did make the leap back home to Arkansas to live the last few years of her life. She lived independently until her health put her best with family. And, ''Oh my stars!'' she was happy to be with family again. She stayed with her niece and family and spent her time enjoying ''better than to-go'' meals prepared for her, talking to and about family, playing games, and cards. Again surrounded with children, great-nieces, and familiarity she'd missed. She enjoyed watching movies with Lilie, Avery tumble across the living room, and eating at ''Lucy's kitchen.'' She worshiped and read scriptures, loved westerns like ''Wagon Train,'' and is the #1 NCIS fan.
Karla was a kind, genuine, and sweet spirit. She loved and lived for the Lord, her family, and Red lipstick! Welcoming, warm, and family-oriented- a fan of family gatherings and never missing a Sunday dinner at her parents. Her presence will be truly missed. Her family has peace in knowing she entered the pearly gates and greeted by those who she, and we all, dearly miss.
As they have a Huddleston reunion in the sky, in her honor, the family will be having a ''Celebration of Life'' at The Cracked Egg at 4:30pm on January 21, 2023.
The celebration is not open to visitors and will be immediate-family only to allow family to grieve together. Flowers, gifts, letters, and any other offerings for the family can be sent to: 1058 Highland Circle Mountain Home, AR 72653
